A yearly tradition of mine is falling on the same weekend as Sasquatch this year. I'm participating in a fundraiser called Homeless For a Night on the night that you'll all be enjoying The Bronx, DFA1979, and Foo Fighters. The fundraiser is in support of a local charitable organization called the Youth Emergency Shelter Society, and the point of the night is to raise as much money as possible, and essentially camp at the local baseball field. If I raise between $250-$450 I get to sleep on a gym mat on the grass with no shelter. If I raise $450-$750 (i think), I get to bring a tent, and above $750 I get an army cot in a canvas army tent. My goal is $2000 this year. Usually I go busking outside local events to get donations, so if you're in Edmonton and you see a guy busking for YESS, say hi. Up until now I've been hoping to win all-inclusive tickets to Sasquatch, but in light of this new development, I'll definitely not be enjoying the music with you this year. If you'd like to donate, you can do so at www.gifttool.com/athon/MyFundraisingPage?ID=1312&AID=1486&PID=191975I expect many pictures and tales of the awesomeness that will be Sasquatch 2011.

I figured Weak Shit Superfan would be the first to call that spam, haha.
I should have prefaced it with the fact that I'm a Saudi Prince with a vast fortune, but I need your personal information/credit card number in order to open an overseas bank account so it will not be frozen by Interpol. In exchange, I will pay you $2 Million upon completion of the transaction.

That is a really wonderful thing to do, Alex! I am sorry you cannot come, but it is a really admirable pursuit.

This will be my 4th year doing it, and it's a great event. Usually they hold it in mid-June, but for some reason they pooped it up a couple weeks this time. There is a very real possibility that I could have to sleep in the snow, haha. Last year on the drive to 'Squatch we drove through a blizzard.

Its just the four letters together, b-u-m-p. Bum-per cars becomes pooper cars, so on and so forth.

And Bumbershoot becomes poopershoot if you don't know what it's actually called.
Good luck, alex! We'll think warm thoughts for you Friday night.

UPDATE: I've raised $500+ so far, and my company has committed to match up to $500. So $1000 for youth in need. I'm halfway there! Here is a picture of me busking for charity from Sunday. Raised $57 and played a lot of folk and punk, haha. (I'm on the left)
