And I feel for those people who see the album as an art form (I'm the same, the way I am with albums is song:album::chapter:book). But I like to treat a good mix CD as somewhat of a collage, transforming pieces of an album into a new work.

My bad Cbats. I follow this board through the most recent 100 posts, so I'm rarely reading the threads in order. I thought you posted that in the thread I asked blacksmile to get an avatar in, so when I didn't see it in that thread, I Dr. Garbanzoured you deleted it.
I had no clue this mix CD thing was such an art form for ya'll. It sounds interesting.
I don't think that you are talking out of your ass at all . A mix CD can surely be viewed as a sort of personal collage. It's fun to take someone else's art and make it your own. The one thing that my mix CD's are lacking in artwork and that's simply because I don't own a printer. However, for the porpoise of this mix I don't think a pen and a sharpie will cut it so I may track one this time!
I wouldn't be surprised if you are picturing me peeling a carrot with a staple gun.

Couldn't agree more. I am a die hard full album listener, but I really enjoy making mixes as well. In fact I think people who listen to full albums have an advantage when making mixes because they actually pay attention to the flow of the compilation and don't just jumble random stuff together.
Oh, and I think I was asked if I live in Vancouver, WA or BC. I'm not going to dignify that with an answer. Sorry, Geno.

Very interesting... I'd probably be inclined to agree with you.

I will do this. I also don't mind spending the extra $5 to send it to an American if the pairs don't line up. I am super nervous to see who my partner is, but it should be fun.

Oh my god, that is a great idea that I will probably not use... This time around, at least. Gibbons, I assume if you wanted in you would have said so already?
