The only thing the name George Brett makes me think of is this: Yeah, "Baseball=Entelluhgents"

Friendly D said the name of "That Championship thing" In the post above yours, ya know. Wouldn't have had to search too far to find it... I am aware JWW. My point was I don't know shit about baseball.

I think it's preferable to be American and associated with baseball than it would be to be Canadian and associated with hockey.
Drunken assholes nationwide are clamoring to have the 'America's Pasttime' title handed to football. These people are permitted to wang my chung.

Just to keep this thread going, and to reiterate I've seen some history in my 20+ games, my second game was in 1989. The lead off hitter hit a double on the first pitch, and apparently was spiked by the short stop. He didn't like it, and both benches cleared. You don't get to see brawls very often in baseball (even though it was more of a push pit). The only game of the last World Series I missed was the Sanchez start when he hit Utley. (I was at Treasure Island.) I later watched replays and was hugely disappointed when no one got hit.

I am a life long Mariners fan, which is pretty absolutely depressing. The only stadiums Ive ever been into are the Kingdome and Safeco. I remember watching games in the early 90's on the 300 level trying to figure out which ant was Ken Griffey, jr.

My best Memory of Safeco field is watching the Roof close in the middle of a game because it was drizzling and the cloud coverage was so low that it looked like the scenes in Independence Day when the Alien ships break through the crowd. My Dad and I also had a good time heckling the lovely fans who scattered to the concourses because of a few drops of the wet stuff...

BOOM. JWW I assume you didn't make that so I feel comfortable saying "Oh good another nerd who doesn't know anything about sports trying to be clever about baseball and falling flat."

You are correct, I did not make that. However, I should have remembered that Canada has a more successful team than the Mariners. God, that really grinds my gears.

Toronto is basically yours anyway, America. Take it, we don't even like it anymore.

I'm sure this has been done already? I think your tour would be much more kick ass than the rest though

Western Canadians washed their hands of that city years ago. It's actually pretty nice from what I remember. We Vancouverites just like to think we have a rivalry with that city, when in fact Torontonians know nothing of this.
