Anyone who's craving baseball right now can watch a spring training World Series rematch if they so desire. Act fast though, it's almost over. EDIT: And to bring this back to Sasquatch for no reason, Ben Gibbard has been tweeting from ST.

Joey Devine also had one of the lowest ERAs for any reliever in the history of baseball after the A's acquired him from the Braves. You can google it, but off the top of my head, it was something like 0.68. That was the only year he was healthy. I don't think he's thrown a pitch the last two seasons. Also, the trade was more of a salary dump for the A's. It was Mark Kotsay, right? (although we payed a bit of his salary). Still a great trade for the A's. yeah, that Oak/Atl deal didn't work out nearly as well for the Braves as the Tim Hudson for Charles Thomas, Juan Cruz and Dan Meyer deal did. Literal laugh out loud. Good call. A's traded Mark Mulder the same year, and that trade is going down as one of the biggest rip-offs in MLB history. Win some, lose some. At least the A's didn't have to pay Hudson, I guess. PS: I could have named each of those players traded for Hudson. It still hurts.

the Braves deal that sent Elvis Andrus, Neftali Feliz, Matt Harrison, Jarrod Salti... (something incredibly long) and Beau Jones to Texas in exchange for 1 1/2 seasons of Mark Teixeira is the prime example of a 'lose some' scenario.
worst trade ever.

Anyone who's craving baseball right now can watch a spring training World Series rematch if they so desire. Do you have MLB.TV? I do and every year I curse that damn package. At least they added streaming to the PS3 last year, because the computer streaming never really worked out. I'm getting all aggro as I type this, so I think I am going to stop.

mlb tv and NBA league pass were just added to Apple TV. If I can do sports on Apple TV, movies on Netflix and TV on Hulu, I'm dumping cable.

I've been going back and forth on whether I want to get it this year. On the one hand, it was hard enough finding streams of non-Yankees games before ATDHE and co. got shut down.* On the other hand, I've heard nothing but horror stories about the stupid fucking blackout restrictions. Look Selig, the reason I want to watch baseball on my laptop is because I don't have a god damn television. Get your head outta your ass. *I'm aware of the replacements and use them to watch other sporting events.

Fun fact about MLB Blackouts for Giant fans. Hawaii is in the blackout territory for the Giants for MLB.tv. Not like I care, but could you imagine being a Giant fan in Hawaii and never being able to watch them live on the internet because you are part of their "home territory"?

"Well, if you want to watch a Giants game, take the afternoon off and buy a ticket!" Blackout rules are so wildly illogical.

Soooo...Back to the A's. Here is a video of Zach Outman's pitching mechanics in high school. Zach is the brother of Oakland A's pitcher Josh Outman. I guess their dad taught them these mechanics to prevent them from hurting their arm. Josh changed to a conventional windup prior to entering the Draft. He is recovering from Tommy John surgery. Imagine that.

That windup is fucked up. It looks like he is dislocating his shoulder prior to beginning his stride. I'm sure he could hurl like a sonofabitch if he was entering the draft, though. Would definitely scare the shit out of me as a batter.

On a different matter, I'm making an announcement right now: Until there is some conclusive proof or LEGITIMATE reason to broach the topic, THERE WILL BE NO POSTS DISCUSSING A POSSIBLE FELIX HERNANDEZ TRADE.
Ken Rosenthal posted another stupid article about it this morning, which reminded me that oh my god people still want to talk about this. Admittedly, we're unlikely to get any Yankees fans in this thread, so this warning is probably unnecessary, but I'm putting it out there just in case some jackass wants to post a link or try to imagine what prospects would come back in such a deal.
No. There will be no discussion of that subject. Just don't do it.

I enjoyed them. Points to the Mariners for having a sense of humor about the disaster that was 2010... and 2008.
