Sorry for wasting your guys' time. I'm sure you had a bunch of super important things to do, so I'm touched that my obnoxious and moronic thread took precedence. Thanks for the info!

In all seriousness though, would anyone actually go to a school bus party at Sasquatch? Not necessarily anyone on this board, as I'm sure you're all sick of me and my n00b antics, but anyone in general? We're trying to plan a tour around it and it'd be nice to know if our four days would be better spend playin shows around seattle or something.

You will have no problem getting people to show up to a party in the Sasquatch campgrounds. People will gravitate to people, so as long as there's people there, more will most likely come.

I will be hosting a bus party again this year and the main problem has always been getting enough gorgees to help us shut the party down when the sun starts coming up so that we can pass out for a few hours. In Short: if you bus it, they will come

I really doubt that the security will allow it. They break up parties with boom boxes after a while, I'm sure that live amplified, non sanctioned music in the camopground would be a nono.
I have been to the bus parties at Sasquatch and they are outrageous. You can't even get thru the bus in less than 20 minutes sometimes. If you don't keep eyte contact with your friends you can lose them in just a few seconds. Just about the time they really get fun, the security comes and shuts them down.

Not necessarily anyone on this board, as I'm sure you're all sick of me and my n00b antics, but anyone in general? We're trying to plan a tour around it and it'd be nice to know if our four days would be better spend playin shows around seattle or something. Short Answer: I'd tour around Seattle if I were you. Long Answer: I have no idea who is organizing this for you, but they are doing a horrible job. Something of this scale needs to be brought to the festival organizer’s attention if this is going to be successful. One thing you must understand about the Gorge staff is that they can shut down anything they want, for whatever reason they want. They are a big fan of the word “liability”. Case & Point: Last year two staff members tried to shut down a homemade Slip ‘N Slide because they were worried someone would get hurt. This prompted one of the most effective arguments I have ever heard presented to the Gorge staff. “So does that mean you are liable if someone tripping on acid fell and smashed their face in?” This argument, coupled with the fact that Slip ‘N Sliders outnumbered the assholes by 8:1, caused the staff to eventually leave. I imagine something this large-scale would attract more than 2 assholes to shut it down. This takes a little more planning than, “Hey dude, you should show up and play a set in the campground for Sasquatch!” To answer your other question about whether anyone would show up: These parties may have been successful in the past, but that was due to a large population of non-festival-attending campers. Ending at 1:00am is shooting yourself in the foot. Even if the headliners end at 12:30am, campers need around 30 minutes to get back to their site, which is right around the time you will be ending. I could see this party working well Thursday night, but who knows how many people will be there by then. With the late start Friday, festival goers have the option of driving to the Gorge on Friday afternoon. If this does end up working out, do yourself a favor and get some security. I think it was the first or second night of Sasquatch ’09 that had a big party and the dance floor ended up on top of someone’s SUV. Someone with a sound system had set up shop under a canopy and attracted a relatively large crowd. Mob mentality fucked up that SUV. I never knew people could be so destructive while singing Sweet Caroline. If you have neighbors close to the scene, you may run a risk of damaging their property. You have exhausted your resources here on the board regarding this issue. We can, and will speculate that you have a 99% chance of having this shut down before you really even get going. If you want an answer that isn’t speculation, tell your organizer to contact the festival.

You're trying to plan a tour around playing a gig in a school bus in a campground. You're asking anonymous people on the internet who are in no way affiliated with any organization that could legitimately answer your questions what the chances are of you even being able to even ENTER the campground (short answer: NO. long answer: You're a fucking idiot).
Going out on a limb here, but it sounds to me like your band sucks ass. Why don't you just play your buddy Jeff's house party or whatever and let the people who are paying hundreds of their dollars to, you know, go to the festival just fucking enjoy it without having to tolerate your shitty band until the inevitable happens and you are escorted from the premises.
Why we're even discussing the logistics of this is beyond me.

So just to get this straight, as a rule, all noobs need to be completely chastised now?
Short answer: Quit being dicks Long answer: We might as well encourage people to join this community that have such a passion for music. He didn't get asked to play a set at the main festival but he is willing to drag his gear all the way accross GC to play for free just to entertain people who might show. Yes the parties on the bus work quite well but your timing idea will only have you in front of the bus people who lack a 4-day pass so the audience will be alot smaller then if you started late (the gorgees didn't manage to shut our bus party down untill 5am 3 of 4 nights last year.) Reggie Watts responded to an email I sent him and he said he would like to come to our bus compound after his set and I think the gorgees will have an uphill battle trying to tell everyone that they should just be quiet and go to bed so at least if you play that night the powers that be will be quite busy. If you and your band are any good I might even ask you guys to drag all your stuff over to our buses afterwards!
Tsrdrum, thank you for posting and for the rest of you, if there are any threads on here that are so terrible that you can't justify responding DON'T RESPOND! Titles like Grandma and Rookie of the Year don't make you moderators and there is no need to devote your lives to making people feel stupid

Option B - Realize this is a message board on the internet and stop taking things so seriously.

The point of hassling the noobs is that we don't want every dumbshit festival goer who wanders in off the internet to feel like they can just post up here and start making threads about every inane thought that pops into their heads. FOR EXAMPLE, Mr. Bus Man, this is the second thread about stupid fucking party buses this month. Do we need them both? PROBABLY NOT.
This guy asked for our advice on what he wanted to do with his lame band, but didn't seem too intent on listening to what we have to say because he's obviously not going to take 'No' for an answer. So if he doesn't really want to know what the finer points of the thing he's trying to do are, then basically he's just spamming us to promote his lame after-party.
Don't even try to tell me how this board works or how to use it, Busshole. You're a symptom of the problem yourself.

Having more than one post addressing the same thing is a very easy fix by any moderator on any forum, not cause to go on a mission to make sure that someone will never want to post again. You have been on this forum for a little over a year and have posted A LOT! I realize that, however I have been going to Sasquatch for a long time and know for a fact that what this guy was talking about can be a great time (we had a live DJ one of the nights last year and we had a blast).
P.S. Busshole sounds like a nice sub-title for me!

Ok, hazing aside, they expressed perfectly valid opinions on the matter and that is what was asked. Not everyone is going to feel the same about something and it is stupid to be pissed just because you do not agree.
