hi not sure where to post this but this will be my first time to the fest, and i was wondering if anyone knew of any cool shows going on like that Tuesday or Wednesday before? im flying into seattle that Tuesday. i know its probably to soon for that but if i could be updated that would be cool i would like to catch a show beforehand if possible. i heard the music scene is alot like austin and if that is the case then there should be shows. i know austin has a list of all upcoming shows do yall(Im from texas if you haven't guessed yet) have the same?
also do you know when official pre-fest shows will be announced? if im not mistaken the temper trap did one last year. how many are there?

Yeah, I remember a Caribou one the day before the festival in Seattle. I don't think it was technically a "pre-fest show" more just a "hey we're on tour on the way" show.

Not Seattle, but Death Cab just announced a show on the Wednesday before Sasquatch in my city, Calgary. Probably see them on the highway the next day. Might try and moon them.

Black Keys w/ Cage The Elephant will be a pretty good show. Yeah, I just saw this come up for Deer Lake Park in Buraby, B.C. It's on a fucking Monday though, so I don't know.

I got a presale e-mail for this today. I'd really like to see both these bands and I've never been to Deer Lake Park before. Know anything about the venue? I'm seriously considering going. If anyone wants the presale info, PM me or some such. It's this Friday 10am-10pm.

I've never been inside the venue, but we walked around the lake a couple summers ago and stood behind the stage during a Ben Harper set.
Hey, it was free.

Accoustics aren't fantastic (it echoes a bit if I recall correctly); but it has a lawn that's larger and nicer than Malkin Bowl, and you can actually purchase beer inside the venue.

Ah yes, I've done this at Malkin Bowl and during the Folk Fest down at Jericho Beach. Burnaby might be a bit far to travel to mooch a free concert, but it's an option. Thanks for the info. Weather is definitely a consideration, as is the fact that it's on a Monday. It's good that they're licensed though, and I see you can bring a 1L "water" bottle in with you. Hmm...
