I really like Round Table as far as chains go (partially cuz I used to work there), but they're too damn expensive. Pizza buffet is definitely the way to go!

Me 'N' Ed's is by far my favorite pizza. A lot of people hate the crisp thin crust but it is to die for IMO. If I am ever out that way I will definitely give it a try.

I am not sure if it has been mentioned yet in this thread... PIZZA If I had that everyday for the rest of my life, I still wouldn't get bored. - Mellow Mushroom LOVE Mellow Mushroom. I used to go there weekly. Unfortunately, I moved and the closest MM is about 3 hours away. Pitt doesn't have ANY good pizza places here. Seriously. They're pizza incompetent. If you ever get the chance to perfect a homemade pizza recipe, I recommend it. That's what Stamps and I have had to do since the pizza here sucks. He's got that recipe down!

But you do have Fat Head's...which is like Utopia for beer fans. Does that make up for it?

I live 8 blocks from Fat Heads. I'm surprised you know about it. Love that place, though even their salads exceed 2,000 calories! Their beer is sometimes hit or miss there. I haven't been there in a while because their list was lacking, but now that you mention it, I'll prob stop by there this week! But, there are some other places around where I live where I can find good/better beer.
But damn, I still miss good pizza.

I was at a conference in Pittsburgh a year and a bit ago, and stumbled upon this place while trying to find a cool place to hang out on a DEAD Tuesday night (even though the Penguins were playing?). I enjoyed the place, tried out lots of different beers and had great conversation with the staff. Before leaving I bought a T-shirt and told the manager I was going to take a picture wearing it at the top of Whistler, as they had zero pictures of Western Canada on their mural. Then United Airlines lost my baggage on my flight home. Never even got to wear the shirt

In my opinion, its the best place to live in Pittsburgh with all of the restaurants and bars. Love it there. What a bummer about your shirt! You going to go to the festival? I could pick another one up for you if you're that serious about getting the photo back to the manager!

Just don't have the necessities in order: enough Money, Collateral, contacts, location for said restaurant, or an interest in living in Pittsburgh beyond this calendar year.

Catherine, That's very generous of you to offer, but you don't need to worry about it, I'll be good and happy with my citranger.ca Sasquatch t-shirt I was actually fortunate enough to get put up by my employer at a downtown hotel. But when everything closed at about 9pm downtown, we were told to take a taxi towards Southside (I believe was what they called it). Unfortunately it was just as dead there, but looked like a great neighborhood with a lot of character. Interesting story - on the way back to the hotel from Carson Street, we quickly found out our cab driver moonlighted as a pimp. He turned of the meter off and made a couple of quick 'stops' en route to make sure his 'staff' was holding up okay. That's something you'd never see in Vancouver.

If the crust is good it looks awesome. It is so hard to find a really good crust.

If the crust is good it looks awesome. It is so hard to find a really good crust. This particular food of the gods is from Da Michele's in Naples. I'm sure some one will post that "all the guide books tell you to eat there and you are just buying into the hype!", and normally I'd agree and say you can find better off the beaten path, only you can not find better. I spent an extra 200 euros just to make sure I could go back through Naples and grab another pizza, it was that good and the crust was that insane. I'm also sure some one is going to point out how lame it is that I'm name dropping pizza in Naples. Normally you'd be right, but fuck you it was fun!
