Awesome, Shax! I'm going to rock the beach / recover on the beach in San Diego for a couple of days afterwards.

Yeah we were thinking San Diego originally, but then we scored tickets to Conan O'Brien and found a sweet place to stay for a few days.

Vegas hotels are stupid expensive for the days in between the two Coachella weekends. That was our first idea before we saw the hotel prices.

Back on topic, Operation vanilla bean and operation dark chocolate are both a success so far. Next step is to add the whipped cream layer once they are finished cooling. I haven't had an honest to goodness vanilla cream pie in a while, so I'm particularly excited about that one.

Finished the pies. Nom nom nom. He may wear cowboy hats, develop software and participate in rodeo but deep down there is a little Martha Stewart in J-Dawg. I'm impressed as usual by you, dear.

Damn, Shax, make your own fucking pies and leave J-Dawg's to those of us who can't make one for ourselves. Stormy, I want a pie. Eat some shit! I don't bake. That involves measuring which I don't do! Besides, I'm one of the few people who can logistically eat one of those bad boys. J-Dawg, hook a brother up!

The pies are for a family dinner tomorrow. So sadly I don't get to eat them tonight either.
And as for making them, they're pretty easy. Seriously anyone can do it. I more or less follow the recipes from Better Homes and Gardens for these kinds of pie crusts and pies, with some minor modifications. These are graham and cookie crumb crusts which are way more forgiving than pastry, and the filling is like making pudding from scratch only thicker (more corn starch). Compared to fruit pies and things like lemon meringue pie or key lime pie, these are much much easier.
