Am I the only one that isn't completely blown away by Reggie Watts? I mean sure, he has an AMAZING voice, great beat-boxing skills, and is decently funny, but as a package deal it all just kind of comes together as a "meh" for me. Even more so, I can't begin to find any humor whatsoever in his little "Fuck Cunt Bitch Fucker...etc etc" song that everyone seems to think is the greatest thing ever made. On the other hand, I CAN'T WAIT to catch Beardyman at Coachella. Extremely similar to Reggie Watts as far as mixing comedy, beat-boxing, and live voice manipulation, but I find him to be farrrr superior in quality. Therefore, I will spam this thread with one of his mesmerizing videos I'm not too keen on Reggie either. I think he is talented though. I'll give this Beardyman a shot!

Not on a lot of folks' radars (still might not be after this post), but I figured that anyone remotely interested in "classic soul" would probably enjoy his music.

Pea, Holy shit! That Wye Oak song is amazing...and it's loud! Ya I was pretty blown away by it. Their new CD has gotten some great early reviews so I look forward to hearing it. As for Beardyman, this is the video that won me over. This is ALL live, no pre-recorded beats or anything... www.youtube.com/watch?v=140frKEfQ1Q

I don't want to spend 35 more minutes at my computer, but I may be forced to do so. Ridiculous performance.

Don't worry, I think I'm the ONLY one around here blown away by Reggie Watts. I think everybody else likes Beardyman better. Mentioned many times, but I'm not a youtuber. I saw Reggie Watts, and he is now literally one of my favorite people alive. I did watch one of the videos Lumpy posted in the comedy lineup thread, and I didn't think it was anything special. If that's his best one, ya'll are being sold short. This is the first time I've considered skipping music to see a comedian. I guess it helps he is just as much of a musician as a comedian. The dude if fucking funny though.

The only content of Reggie's that I've seen is the stuff that I've found on youtube, and quite frankly it just isn't very good. I trust your opinion though, Know, so I might just have to give him a shot at the fest.

"Gaudy Side of Town" off Relayted by Gayngs is something worth checking out.
"In The Dirt" by fellow Midwesterner, S. Carey.
The entire Guerilla Manor album is excellent. Local Natives also do a pretty mean cover of "Cecilia".

Empty I forgot to tell you that after leaving your place on Saturday I put that Gayngs album on. Got so depressed by the 4th song I turned it off and almost turned around back to your house haha. Amazing album but so dark and gloomy!

I'm really pumped to see these guys play, because "Hospice" is a really, really good album and I hear that the lead singer has a really powerful voice live. This band, I feel, will scratch my need for a little twinge of alt-hop to complement my alt-rock weekend. And Skrillex, one of my favorite dubsteppers, will hopefully get shifted around to a late night slot because I think having a little dub-metal right before the walk back would be rad. Just thought I'd share
