Ooooooohhhhh, no. The years have not been kind to Elvis' material.
Man when that guy lost his muse he lost it BAD.

Tis true but he did go in all sorts of directions. I personally have a hard time thinking of anybody who has only released pure gold for their entire career. I came to the conclusion a long time ago that just because you really like a singer or band does not mean everything they do is gold.

Yes I can't say I'd go see him now a days. I got lucky and saw him open for the Grateful Dead four shows before Jerry passed away. It was the time of his unplugged album and he delivered an acoustic and an electric set that were just awesome. Though I feel HG is optimistic as it's been twenty five since Dylan's quality period. One other name that hasn't been mentioned is Elivs Costello. You would have to agree that this man has spanned many genres and is still actually releasing relevant music today. Add that to the pure brilliance of his first three albums and I think he should be considered as one of the all time greats. SO WAS THAT AS COOL AS SEEING THE MURDER CITY DEVILS WAY BACK IN THE DAY? GOD YOUR INDIE CRED STOCK IS THROUGH THE ROOF ON THIS BOARD

I love when I get to see bands I love live especially when I know it's a once in a lifetime event for me. My collection is diverse and tailored only along the lines of "if I like to listen to it then it belongs in my collection." Wondering if anybody here listens to Joel Plaskett? (Ps also saw Eric's Trip last show back in 1995.)

I personally have a hard time thinking of anybody who has only released pure gold for their entire career. In my opinion... Gold Status: Sigur Ros Portugal. The Man (if you realize American Ghetto a B-side album) Boards of Canada Gold with a little impurity: Andrew Bird Elliott Smith Broken Social Scene

Yeah, well, whenever the God of the Old Testament started to get the idea that the people who posted on HIS message board didn't believe in HIM, He started murdering their first-born sons and pissing blood in their drinking water.

Doumak your statements are good but BSS have more than a little impurity and though I'm not familiar with Portugal, one of the others you mention are soundscapes and the other tends to sing in a made up language. I love both but just saying.
