Man, y'all be hatin' hard. I thought they were good, but I was just disappointed because I thought it would literally be an orchestra and not "rock band plus strings"
Also, careful, last year one of their members posted on here, and would you really want to make them feel bad. The lady was really nice.

I don't think anyone here has an issue with the SRO themselves. I actually think what they do is really cool. I do, however, think it's a load of crap that a major music festival thinks it's ok to pass of a cover band as a legitimate act...more than once for that matter. To add insult to injury, they get booked to cover 2 bands in particular that a staggeringly high number of attendees beg to see year after year.
Like a wise man once said, "So, you like Angelina Jolie? That's great! Here's a picture of Jon Voight's nutsack."

I see where you're coming from, and definitely agree.
However, I appreciate them at least TRYING to compensate.
By the way, I still can't remember what fucking movie that quote is from.

But he gots 'dat from somewhere too. I know it was in a movie. I'm willing to bet money on it. And I have a damn good feeling Jonah Hill said it, but I'm not as sure about that one.

Okay, I see your point, Pea. I've tried twice to write a counterpoint against it but have deleted both entries. My basic point was that it's only a noon show on a side stage so who really cares because we're all going to miss it anyway, but then I remembered back to the times that there was a noon show that I actually did really want to see and how I dragged my hungover ass out of my tent and down to the festival in time for it. A great case in point was The Heavy last year. When I first got up I swore up and down that I physically could not make it into the festival that early, but after some sitting and some water (and probably a beer or three) I decided to attempt the journey. Once there, clinging to the front rail was the only thing keeping me on my feet, but then the show started and I was so glad to have made it. SRO does not motivate me like this, and the same probably goes for most others, so yeah it is a waste. I see it less as deception on AZ's part though, and more as laziness.

Hey, so is there anyway that someone with Excel can update the original? Pretty please?

OH FUCK, that's right! Shit which album, and what was he talking about? I'm not sure which album it was (heard it in my brother's car), but he was talking about The Phantom Menace. 'Oh, you like ice cream? Here's a bucket and some rock salt.'

Any time someone says "you like ice cream" I think of the ice cream truck in Invader Zim. YOU LIKE ICE CREAM. YOU LOVE IT.

Well put wolfy, and I too was one of the handful that was fortunate enough to get blown away by The Heavy last year

I was really bummed to have missed The Heavy last year. I can't remember why we missed that set, but I'm sure it has something to do with alcohol. ;-)

The Heavy were one of the best late adds last year. I saw them a month later in a small club and they were not as good as they were that day. Not to mention the fact that there club show was the same length as their Sasquatch show...45 minutes. Big ripoff given that tickets were $45.00, which was probably the venues fault and not the bands.
Still a great band though and I'm curious to see if they stick around.

I was desperately trying to round up my group to make it down for the Heavy but everyone was either too hungover, still cooking food, or playing beer pong. The 2 that ended up coming with me had never even heard of them before but we all rocked the eff out during their set. Probably the best surprise set of the weekend for me. I was so impressed that despite playing for such a small handful of people on the other side of the world at NOON, they still performed as if they were in front of 80,000 people at Wembley Stadium. That's a true group of performers right there.

I'm curious to see if they stick around. Me too. It seems like out of every ten or so new bands that make the festival circuit each year only 1 or 2 will ever be heard from again.

They seem to have made it in the entertainment world since "How You Like Me Now" has been featured in car commercials and was the opening song in The Fighter...so I hope the have a chance beyond that.
Their first album, Great Vengeance and Furious Fire, was pretty awesome as well. More R & B based than rock based but a good listen if you haven't heard it yet.
