Well, 10 million listens later I can finally say I enjoy The Head and the Heart. that's cool. i don't really dislike them, myself. but i can think of other folksy bands i'd much rather listen to.

so.... you guys think there will be any more adds? it's starting to look like this is it. last year they had 8 bands on the Yeti on Sunday, so far only 7 announced this year. also it seems like Friday could get another act on the Bigfoot. otherwise it's a pretty full schedule. can't wait for the set times!!!
also, if you haven't checked it out the live coachella stream (http://www.youtube.com/coachella) is pretty awesome, there's some squatch bands broadcasting live today (DFA 1979, Best Coast, Foster the People, Ratatat, Chromeo) and some good stuff from !!! and Gayngs (and Flogging Molly - doesn't do much for me, but maybe if it's your thing...) in the archives already.

There is a coachella thread in music related. I watched the empire of the sun set and it brought way too many good memories back into my head of seeing them last summer in hollywood. Their set was only a teaser at 55 minutes. Can't wait to see them this summer at red rocks!

*crickets* Anyone else notice Mariachi El Bronx added to the YETI on Friday? Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. It's really sad that I'm more interested in the fact that the Yeti stage is being played on Friday than the actual band. Also, I'm still crossing fingers for Bon Iver...(I can dream right?)

Sorry to burst the new addition bubble, but Mariachi El Bronx is the fourth studio album by The Bronx. It marks a divergence from the band's usual hardcore punk and hard rock sound in favor of a mariachi style. To promote and perform the album the band adopted the alter ego persona "Mariachi El Bronx", and have performed under both identities concurrently. (Source: Wikipedia)
I do, however, think we should still be excited that they're opening up another stage. Why would an eco-friendly festival open up another stage for just the one band? Let's hope it means that stage assignments will be changed with bands being sent to the Yeti so that larger bands can be added to other places...
Or The Bronx will just play twice in one evening.

That's what's making me hope for Bon Iver more...ha But yes, the next few weeks will be interesting to see.

we're still a month away, maybe this last few weeks has been the quiet before the storm, and maybe sneaking in a new stage in the dark of the night is priming us diehards for some actual additions on friday... I will stay optimistic and hope so. I'm with Pea, dance tent would be siiiiick! I have to think they wouldn't open up the Yeti stage just so The Bronx can get their mariachi on. something is going to happen there. (please!) oh and Bon Iver... it's good to have dreams. I caught the last couple songs of their set a few years back ('09?) and they were TEARING IT UP and then of course they went on hiatus and haven't toured since. but as much as I would love to see them, I'm not holding my breath

Yea, there's NO way they would open up an additional stage just so some has-been hardcore band can stroke their shitty mariachi alter-egos. I'm starting to believe (more than hope) that we still have more adds in the making. I'm not holding my breath for a lot of quality adds, but it will nice to see them at least fill the schedule out a bit more.

Foo Fighters =/= Mariachi El Bronx.
I refuse to believe they actually plan on wasting stand-hands and sound board operators just so a band that already has close to zero draw at this festival can play an hour of latin music. Then again, Zacks has already done a few things this year that has made me think he jumped off the deep end.
