1000 of my glow sticks arrived in the mail yesterday (waiting on the other 500). One of my coworkers / fellow Sasquatch'ers, upon hearing this, decided he would also bring 1000 glow sticks for Bassnectar.
We all need to arrange a meeting spot before his set so we can group together and all unleash them in unison.
We need a camera man/woman as well.
I was thinking about this earlier today. If you guys post exactly when you unleash the beast, there will be many people filming it on their phones, myself included. For example, if we all knew they will go up fifteen seconds after the music starts, we will all have enough time to grab our phones, and start filming. That way, we get several different angles as well.
Earlier in the thread, someone mentioned the first drop as the trigger point, which could work. Of course, that assumes the group has all assembled prior to the first drop, which I see as being the most difficult part of whatever plan we come up with. Still, a trigger like that might allow this to work even if there are several pockets of people, and even those of us in severely altered states will probably be able to handle a plan like that.
Well, mrlahey along with a few others and myself will be joining together before the set. The closer the festival gets we can arrange an official meet up spot for everyone involved. It could be as easy as the VIP/sound booth in the back of the field. I think the idea of the first drop is a great plan. It's not like we can just guess when/if he will play a particular song, so I like that idea. If we're all somewhat grouped together we'll all be eye's distance from each other and can all unleash the madness together.
I was kinda hoping the glowstick throwing would start all at once from all different angles. I know this would be much harder to orchestrate, but I think it would be a wicked effect. A few months ago I bought only 40 glowsticks so I'll leave the detailed coordination to those with more to throw.
Shit, if someone's at the front, it might be worth a try trying to get the camera man in on it too. Every camera man I've talked to at Sasquatch has been super cool and they seem like they'd totally be down to try to catch something like that. (Granted, you probably won't get to see it later though.)

"Show me the Glowsticks!"
See the great thing about referencing Jerry Maguire is that it WORKS for most everything (and sometimes even when it doesn't work it is even better you guys, am I right here? Ha hahahhahahahh... sorry was just thinking about a time I used it when it didn't work, show me the citation...). Anyway, the other great thing is that it remains nothing but relevant today, "Show me the relevance!" Ha ha!
