How do you feel about Modest Mau5 headlining, Mr. Cool Ice?

Coachella's undercard is also much stronger with bands that Sasquatch could have easily afforded.
Pink fucking Martini... I just don't get it. Their target demographic is exactly who will not be as Sasquatch. I know they probably won't be on the mainstage, but still. I fail to see any logic behind that choice aside from maybe hoping to sell a bunch of single day tickets to middle aged people who otherwise have no reason to be there, and who have the disposable income to pay 80ish bucks for a drive into the middle of nowhere for one band. my money is that they play the same day as Sharon Jones so the old folks will have at least one more reason to go. I had never heard of Old 97's, Fitz and the Tantrums, Archers of Loaf, Jenny & Johnny, Stornoway, or pretty much anyone on the 2nd half of the poster aside from The Bronx, Das Racist, Noah and the Whale, Twin Shadow, City & Color, K-OS and Young the Giant.

HG, I know you're really pissed off about the lineup, so I'm trying to show some compassion by not gloating here. And I know you want to leap on me for using the word "gloating" when you clearly don't think Modest Mouse is worthy, but look at it from my perspective: My favorite band is headlining a day at Sasquatch. How much you think they suck doesn't matter; I'm pretty elated about that.
That said, however -- turns out most of my friends feel the way you all do, so I may have a hard time assembling a group to go this year. May wind up being just me and my sister.

You not knowing who Archers of Loaf are is your own fault and is embarrassing. The next time you want to complain about something, please preface your post with "BEFORE YOU LISTEN TO ANYTHING I SAY, KNOW THAT I DO NOT KNOW WHO THE FUCK ARCHERS OF LOAF ARE"

Looks like Zacks chose the most boring headliner's to date. Not sure if he was trying to do some 10th Anniversary SeattleFest (Deathcab, Modest & Foo) or if he was just choosing acts that he likes (Wilco). Primavera sound pretty much kicked his a$$ & that's not hard to see.. One thing Zacks did right was with the electronic acts.. Chromeo, Bassnectar, MSTRKRFT, Flying Lotus & Skrillex. Zacks also saved himself with The FLips, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Yeasayer, Deerhunter & Best Coast..
Not too bad Zacks, But not too good either.. Looks like we'll have to wait another year for Sasquatch to break out of it's shell..

I admit to not being super indie, although I looked them up on last.fm and recognized some names in their similar artists. My rant was more directed toward Pink Martini.

I know they probably won't be on the mainstage, but still. oh they will absolutely play the mainstage. I'm terrified that whatever day wilco plays will also include rodrigo y gabriela and pink martini. also, you should really check out archers of loaf, the other bands you listed are not really worth looking into though

It looks to me like there is only 1 headliner on this lineup. (Foo Fighters) And I was just expecting 4 headliners. Did you notice that this post has been made at least once per page over the last twenty pages? Please retreat to your Twitter if you want to further bitch about the headliners. As fun as it was to have a crazy amount of traffic for one night, let's go back to having forty posters on this board; I can't keep up with all the whiny bitches who signed up last night. I did not sign up last night, and am not a whiny bitch. I thought this was a public forum for music lovers to discuss the music at the festival. But I guess I'll just go fuck myself then.

And that makes me sad.

Eh, I'll get over it. It's going to be a great fuckin' Squatch as usual; at the moment I'm feeling pretty foolish for once again getting so swept up in the rumors and speculation. Aside from this being one of the friedliest sounding posts you've ever made, I see your point and I'm actually pretty excited for you. Seeing that the Lips will be doing Soft Bulletin is probaby the most excited I've ever been during the lineup announcement. I'm not a fan, but I love watching Death Cab perform. I've never seen Wilco; I'm pretty thrilled about that. And goddammit, I love Modest Mouse's music a LOT, at least up to a point, and even if their set is only 50% songs that I care about that 50% will be made up of some of the greatest songs of the last twenty years. Most of all I fucking hate people who sit around bitch bitch bitching about the lineup, so I'm gonna cut that out. This is our party and it's as awesome as we make it; cool for Isaac that he's invited this year, I'm going to smoke mad joints and watch the hell out of Modest Mouse.

I think that the lineup is actually pretty fucking awesome (especially compared to Coachella's Kanye/KOL garbage)...sure most of us have seen these bands before but at least they are a good batch of performers and will not disappoint. The mid tier is unbelievable and I can't believe that GBV, Archers of Loaf, DFA1979 are playing. Not too mention Surfer Blood, The Thermals, The Bronx, Sharon Jones and Smith Westerns...fantastic.
That being said, I will not be in attendance this year as we have a new baby in the family...so I raise a tall boy of PBR to those of you that are going. Enjoy the weekend and have a great time!!!!
