So this guy walks into a bar and asks the bartender about the Sasquatch 2011 line up and the bartender says to them "Nowadays music sounds like noise, I would have Frank Sinatra and Heintje headline if I wern't your bartender and your grandpa", then the kids all say "GRAMMMPPAHHH!"

That was my initial thought. But how long have Mitchell Black and the dude from The End had their press sheets? The guy from The End said he had the lineup a few days ago. Plenty of time to add them to the poster before the official release party. I'm hoping it was just an oversight. My guess, they had the posters, and DFA and TPC were recent signs (why DFA is recent and MSTRKRFT not, who knows). If Bryce (the end) knew both DFA and MSTRKRFT were playing he'd have said so in that interview he posted yesterday (linked in the other thread somewhere in the late 40s). The press release things were probably handed out tonight. Whereas the end has had that page put together for a couple days now. At the bottom of that interview, it specifically said that he was not allowed to ask about DFA 1979.

In retrospect that should have been a glaring sign that something was up with them

hmm, what do you think the odds are that this festival is going to sellout with this for a lineup?

I was disappointed at first, but that was because I had high hopes for the headliners. But it's not really a matter of disliking the bands on the list, but just being unfamiliar with them. However I think Modest Mouse as a headliner is a huge mistake. Those guys are a studio band, not a live band.

However, i'll still watch them again and hope for the best.

Don't get me wrong, I love the band. They just have zero stage presence. I will still really enjoy seeing them at Sasquatch, but it will sound very similar to their albums.

I'm hoping for atleast Iron & Wine, DFA79, or Decemberists under Foo on Friday. Zero Bright Eyes!!!

i will say this, last year's subs would easily have been more 'headliner worthy' than this year's group. but i'm still okay with that. Is there any ONE band that i'm absolutely geeked-out over? - not really... but there are still a TON of solid bands i'm looking forward to seeing.

i am a little surprised that Foals and Naked & Famous aren't on the lineup. I really thought they'd both be a lock!
