Its definetly as much if not more about the atmosphere and setting than the music. I also purchased my ticket when only foo were confirmed. As far as other gems...check out Sleigh Bells. If you have never been to the Gorge then stop thinking, buy your ticket, and start planning. There are not words beautiful enough to describe the feeling you get when you over the hill and see the concert area for the first time. Its awe inspiring. I can't wait to see it again. Its been two years

I feel sorry for people who let the lineup sway them from attending. They obviously either haven't experienced this festival before and now probably never will, or just don't "get" what Sasquatch is all about. If you think it's all about the music then you are just dead wrong. I've always looked at it as a weekend long gathering of incredible people looking to have an incredible time meeting and interacting (ok fine, partying their faces off) with each other...and oh yea there's a shit ton of incredible bands thrown in as a bonus!

If you were watching Zach, you missed the cliff sex. That is all. This is a lie. I saw all of Zach then headed down to the mainstage, got a decent spot down front mid Decemberists, and got there about 10 minutes before cliff sex.

I'll have to find some videos when I get a chance. As a return favour for the Reggie Watts video, here you go: The dude abides! Thank you! Will check it when I get to my headphones due to my speakers not working.

Personally im not going to hold it against anyone who hasn't been there and isn't familar with sasquatch. I was drawn there for the first time by the music. I had never heard of sasquatch or the gorge when I was visiting my cousin in 2006(I think). I looked for concerts happening in the area lo and behold, NIN, one of my favorite bands was playing at sasquatch. That was all I needed. Straight up bought a ticket and fell in love. I actually have goosepoops right now just thinking of it. That show was so godamn epic. I've now been back 4 additional times and my stories inspired dozens of people from back home to see for themselves what this incredible experience is about. I still can't believe Janes Addiction headlined above NIN. That electric light fence nin had blew my mind and then I saw Tool there 3 months later that was the best fucking show of my life. I can only hope that some of the bands playing this year have light shows that compare. Does anyone know if any of them do?

Yes. They all have light shows. Every single one of them. Just for you and Sasquatch.

That TooL show was hands down, the best TooL show I've ever seen. I've seen them a lot.

Ya know peatrick, why the need to be a smartass? I've never seen alot of the bands playing and I enjoy seeing a concert that incorporates a great light show, is it bad that im curious? Jeez. If you know whether the headliners have such then say so.
Yes fox that show was so good. opiate and sober live were a real treat, they hadn't played either of those live in years. That was also the only show they played those songs during that tour. I know alot of people who count that as their best tool show and best gorge show.

Festival settings are impossible to know if bands will have their own stage set ups. For pretty much everyone except for a couple headliners and likely Bassnectar, they will just use whatever the house provides.

Yes, The Flaming Lips will most likely have the most elaborate stage setup of the weekend.

A little advice, don't take anything too personally. Tone is hard to convey on short board messages, but I think most of the time the intentions are good around here.

The only time I saw Tool, was at the Key Arena, and I had the worst seats ever. Right side of the stage, all the way up at the top. Like seriously, there was just one more row behind me.
But it was still amazing. One of the best concerts I've been to.

One of these days, I will do a write up about my TooL experiences. I've seen them 10 different times in 6 different cities, 3 states, 1 province... I have journeyed for those dudes.

That TooL show was hands down, the best TooL show I've ever seen. I've seen them a lot. Just out of curiousity, what was so different about their show in '06 aside from it being at the Gorge? I saw them in '09 for the first time headlining an outdoor festival in SoCal and again last year at the Key Arena. Both were badass... But apart from one being inside, the experience wasn't really different. And Geno, if you are talking about last year, you must have been seated pretty damn close to where I was!

The stage setup in '06 wasn't too different from what you saw in '09. The stage was a huge white canvas so we stood on the path seperating the hill from the floor so we could see all the visuals shining down on the stage. It was the first time I had seen this setup and a real change from the visual presentation of their shows from years past. So that, combined with seeing them at the gorge is why it was the best one for me.

Ah... I'm jealous. Lol. The gorge held some of my most memorable concerts (RHCP/FF), so I completely understand.
Kudos on being Mod, btw.

Can I just say 'What the Fuck?' to the Trailer Park Boys? haha my friend (mind you she is a mormon and doesn't like to watch rated "R" movies) loves, absolutely loves this show. It makes me laugh that she won't listen to Starfucker, because of their name, or watch the rated "r" movies, but she'll watch this show for hours and listen to bands that swear more times in an album than little miss sunshine. I just don't understand, I also do not understand the trailer park boys and her obsession with them (more like bubbles, and yes I know the characters name because she is that obsessed).

I was front row against the gate getting all of my innards flattened and vertebrates wedged apart when I saw them in 2002. It ruled.
I saw 'em just for fun on my birthday last year. Lasers. (also Third Eye was nostalgic to hear)
