I actually really like My Guitar Gently Weeps covered by Spineshank. I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't like it. I mentioned it will make some laugh, because it will. The dude can't sing, and when he tries it is painful. The background music is solid, and when he is screaming it's not bad.

Very good critique. Good point about the vocals.

I just realized that one of my favorite kinds of music applies 100% to this thread. Spamming may commence in the next couple of days....

Why are all the kids sayin' Swag? Who showed them this? Someone needs to answer for it is all I know. Somebody (aged 5 and a half years old I'm sure) said their coffee was "Swag" today. What? Why? Anyways, it all made my mind think of Swagger, then my mind thought of Lou Reed's cover of This Magic Moment, which has way more swag than a gourmet coffee (though the coffee was fucking phenomenal, possibly even swag for all I know). Good tune and a pitch perfect pick for the Lost Highway scene it's featured in. Like all good covers it also becomes something else and breaths a new fire only felt in the cover. Get yo' swagger on fellas!

Honestly one of my favorite songs period. And the fact that it is all done through loops makes it all the more amazing.

These guys do metal covers of old video game music.
A little corny, but kind of cool at the same time.

They have a whole album of covers.
Maniac (Michael Sembello) Zero (Smashing Pumpkins) Plowed (Sponge) Stars (Hum) Knowledge (Operation Ivy) Mad World (Tears for Fears) The Kids Aren't Alright (Offspring) Dying Degree (NOFX) and then a hidden track that has a Every Rose Has It's Thorn, Drowning Pool and Spongebob Theme
Fun album if you can tolerate hardcore

www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiZDQgywbogAlthough nothing could possibly top Waits' original, I've always really loved the Blue Hawaiians version of Jockey Full of Bourbon. The recorded version is better, but this live video is still pretty darn good.

I thought the Blood Brothers cover of Under Pressure was the coolest fucking thing I'd ever heard in high school. AND IT STILL FUCKING RULES.
