Album suggestions? They must be good if you added the obligatory "fucking" in their name. Colors. Definitely. Although they'll probably be playing stuff from their new album, which after I few albums I already rank as their second best. Colors is their masterpiece though. I don't remember if you're into metal or not, but they're one of the best bands in the metalcore genre. They're progressive metalcore, so their sound shifts all over the place. Oh yes, I dig Metal. I have the first four Metallica albums memorized, and my favorite metal album will always be Slayer's Divine Intervention (blind my eyes, I can't see). When most of my music listening started occurring at work, bands like Wilco ruled my world. The only metal bands I really listen to these days are High On Fire, Baroness, Mastodon (mostly because the major music sites recommended them) and Aggaloch. I don't think Deftones are metal, but I've been into them for days also. Yes, I like the song you posted. It reminded me an old friend who would only listen to metal, but I can't remember all the bands he made me listen to. Death and a TON of Hypocricy, those I remember. I also remember loving the shit out of Cradle of Filth.

I don't listen to much metal anymore, but Between the Buried and Me are still the shit. I overlooked them on that schedule.

Alaska, yo. And since that's where wonk hails from I think it's a perfect starting point.

Alaska is my favorite, but I thought peeps were freaks for the old shit.
*I was thinking classic, not masterpiece. Alaska is definitely their masterpiece.

I wasn't sure if Wonk was into metal enough to appreciate Alaska. It's a little too chaotic for a lot of people.
But yeah, Alaska is amazing as well.

Alright folks, Fun Fun Fun Fest starts next weekend. I don't listen to nearly as much music as I used to, so I've never heard of half of these bands. Help me out here, who do I need to see. The lineup is here: www.funfunfunfest.com/artistsSchedule is here: www.funfunfunfest.com/eventsMy can't misses are listed below: Friday: Run DMC Macklemore Tomahawk Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (probably) Saturday: Why? Sunday: De La Soul Deerhoof (just for Lumpy, since I've missed them 17 times over the last six years) Titus Andronicus (end of their set after Deerhoof) Fang Island As you can see, I have a lot of holes to fill. Badchoices, help me with the butt-rock please? Proud of you, suga. Thank you.

Other good things:
-Danny Brown -I am curious what "Special Performance featuring the Black Lips" means, so I'd say go to that just to figure that out. Not sure what your stance is on the Black Lips though. It's listed under the hip-hop category, so that should be interesting. -Explosions -Diamond Rugs (Not to be confused with Diamond Rings who is also on the lineup but I know absolutely nothing about.) -Fucked Up -Wavves (I like his songs a lot, but I do realize most of the board, possibly you included, is probably predisposed to hate him.) -HOW HAS NOBODY SAID ANYTHING ABOUT EUGENE MIRMAN YET! I LOVE HIM THE MOST ON TOP OF THAT ALREADY GREAT COMEDY LINEUP! THIS WOULD BE MY NUMBER ONE THING YOU HAVEN'T MENTIONED! -David Cross. Duh. -Hannibal Burress. Duh. -Wyatt Cenac. Duh -Doug Benson. Duh. -Jon Benjamin. Duh.
<3
This festival and Primavera are probably the 2 festivals I've never been to that I want to go to the most.

Danny Brown: Yeah, I forgot how much I dig this guy's flow before cbats mentioned him. It's a near can't miss for me now. Black Lips Whatever Thing: Yes, Black Lips are great. I haven't seen nearly the amount of shenanigans I've heard about at their shows, but they always are a blast. Their shows are the only times I've thrown empty beers cans at a band on stage, but it's encouraged at Black Lips shows. Explosions: I've seen them enough, and I only want to see more GYBE. Fucked Up: I just saw them for the first time a couple weeks ago, and they are playing opposite a couple bands I want to see, so that probably won't happen. Diamond Rugs: A new recommendation (I think). I'll keep them in mind. Wavves: I don't like Wavves, you're right. Comedy: You know, I usually skip comedy at music festivals. We'll see. I'm glad you gave recommendations, I'll keep them saved on my phone in case I can make those. PS: Taco Canon: It is what it sounds like. I need to see this.

If you have to do one of the things I mentioned (excluding Deerhoof whom you already said you are going to see), make it Eugene Mirman. I love the other 4 comedians I mentioned, but very few comedians do I laugh as hard at as Eugene.

Wonk, I hope you saw Cursive last night because I am skipping their show in Dallas tonight to hang out with you in Austin (if you know how much I love Tim Kasher's work then you should feel pretty damn special right about now).
As far as metal goes (yeah I'm late on that conversation), the only newer metal band that I really enjoy is In Flames; their guitar riffs blow my mind.
