And if I’m being real, I really liked the early deadmau5 stuff before it turned in to the catalyst for the current edm trashfire. He made some really solid tunes and elevated the visual component of live dance music shows. It’s just so played out at this point, I guarantee he fucking hates it more than anyone at this point. Yeah, I feel like if his statements in 2015 are any indication he's aware that he helped create a monster. Unfortunately, he keeps failing to push his own envelope and experiment anymore, so even though he hates what he's become he still ends up cashing in on it with mediocre radio hits. That's not entirely true. He put out an entire album of NIN worship. Cheap imitation, but not a single radionhit on it.

Oh shit are we going to argue about Nine Inch Nails’ relevance and influence again?

Oh shit are we going to argue about Nine Inch Nails’ relevance and influence again? I guess I wouldn't mind them being on the lineup as long as there's someone good playing the night Bigfoot or tent at the same time. See also: Nick, circa 2013 re: Nine Inch Nails For the record, my opinion on NIN has changed approximately 0%

you guys go to capitol hill block party? they are having a special valentines day special where tickets are $99, 119.70 after fees just bought mine, gonna be my third one! CHBP used to be my favorite city-based fest, but it’s become such a phenomenally douchebro-infested shitshow that I will never go back. It’s well documented here, but TL;DR someone punched me in the back of the head during Spoon and security threw my semi-conscious body to the curb by the Shell station. Sorry about that. And it wasn't a punch, it was an elbow.

There are so many things that I'll never tell my friends or lovers and take it silently to my grave. Today, Anklepants became the newest burden that I'll carry with me. I love this board.

I regret missing Kyle Craft at Sas last year, but the tree climbing could be fun.

I regret missing Kyle Craft at Sas last year, but the tree climbing could be fun. Same here. Kyle played too damn early in the day. But I did catch him at the Easy Street booth and bought his record, so I was glad to get to show him some support because he is pretty great.

Upstream full schedule is out. Bummed that D. Tiffany is playing the same slot as The Flaming Lips, but looks like a kickass weekend overall.

I was really hoping she wasn't going to be Sunday night, because I have tickets to Godspeed You! Black Emperor that evening. Fucking damn it. She stole the show at Kremwerk when she opened for Project Pablo.

Shit, and Cut Copy is at 8:15.
So far no conflicts with Zola Jesus, Debit, or Colleen Green, though, which is a good sign.

Outside of Colleen and Little Dragon I'm getting the feeling I'm spending most of Friday at Comedy Underground.

Saw them back in Dec. at Day For Night and it was so intense and awesome. I still need to dig into Upstream's undercard as I only have a handful of artists starred in the app and a few of them conflict.

I need to hunker down for a weekend and really dig into it.
