Wait so this is the Porto one? No, this is a month later in Lisbon. It's sponsored by the same people though (NOS phones) so is a bit confusing. Kessler got super excited last year before realizing that June and July aren't the same thing.

nosalive.com/en/lineup/Goddammit Europe is killing it on the festivals this year. Chemical Brothers, Pixies, Robert Plant, Radiohead, Tame Impala, Foals, Hot Chip, Courtney Barnett, Father John Misty, Arcade Fire, M83.... Fuck me. Oh and a 3 day ticket is 120 fucking euros. But yeah, dammit this looks good. I'm super interested to see the rest of the lineups this year to see if this quality is making it back over the sea.

Pemberton should just charter a plane from Lisbon to Vancouver and take that whole damn lineup.

Sadly I only found one band just from memory that played at NOS and Pemberton the same year in the past 2 years and that was Chet Faker last year. I think Flume played as part of another band last year as well possibly..

Clearly this means only one thing. LCD SOUNDSYSTEM = PEMBERTON CONFIRMED At first I liked this and then I realized that I need LCD to play a headlining Vancouver show so this is not allowed to happen. Sorry.

This may not interest a lot of people on this board but if you ever want to see some insanely good black metal and other varieties of heavy madness you need to come to Olympia in mid-August. Incredible first wave of bands blows my mind. I am not missing this. Already got the go ahead from my wife Migration Festival www.migrationfest.us/I don't know any of these names, but I'm down to check this out with you for the sake of saying we went to a metal festival in Olympia.

Peaches announced as a guest curator and performer for Sled Island this year, pretty sweet! Despite the weak Canadian dollar I expect the festival to still bring in lots of good talent. Last year there were more passes and tickets sold than ever before! I have a couple friends who work pretty closely with the festival. They haven't let much slip yet, but they said they would probably give me some info this week. Either way, first lineup announcement is in a week and a half!
If any Americans have ever considered visiting Calgary before, this would be a fantastic time. The festival is always one of the best weeks of the year and with our dollar's current value, it would be a pretty inexpensive trip.
