Why do you find that shocking? Dude is the most marketable EDM producer on earth right now.

he's listed on the same level as eminem, coldplay, foo fighters, muse, and MMJ, that's a pretty huge jump for the guy.
also his music is awful

Listed on the official poster next to them? Or on some website that just posted the lineup. Totally different.

this is true, technically he's on the second line but he's playing one of 6 headlining slots

I wish Lollapalooza still played at more than one location

The only name on that poster that makes me jealous is The Naked and Famous. OK, A Perfect Circle too.

No twin shadow as far as i can tell i'm utterly speechless. ** The lineup isn't terrible but it's a significant step back from last year.

So then it'll be easier to persuade you into Pitchfork and/or Hopscotch?

Every festival is every festival...there is nothing unique on that bill. I guess maybe the Cars? And I think that's Deadmau's only festival appearance this year? Meh, not upset at all I'm missing it.

The Cars are definitely the best part of that lineup. it's the only reason I haven't completely ruled lollapalooza out yet.

A friend of mine mentioned Kanrocksas to me on the facespace. I've never heard of it. Though, how many people associate a legit festival in the flatlands of the mid-west? But, their early announcements for the lineup aren't too shabby (it looks almost exactly like Lolla), its pretty cheap, and for those who like camping rather than hoteling-it for the weekend at Outside Lands and Lolla, camping is also an option. kanrocksas.com/

it's not a bad price... but I'd need a hell of a lot more than the FLAMING FUCKING LIPS, A Perfect Circle and Primus to sway me into hanging out at a motor speedway in Kansas for two days.
-EDIT-
*but going back to the topic of Lolla* The Cars might be all it takes to sway me. (How many more opportunities will I ever have to see them?)
if only they had The Shins, as well. sigh. dilemmas.
-EDIT PART TWO- or Pulp.

D12! Talk about a major festival draw! Sign me up!
I would really like to get to Lolla one year, but I can't see it being this year. That fest just seems insanely crowded to me and the whole hotel thing...maybe next year.

D12! Talk about a major festival draw! Sign me up! I would really like to get to Lolla one year, but I can't see it being this year. That fest just seems insanely crowded to me and the whole hotel thing...maybe next year. It really isn't too too too crowded. Perhaps it just seems that way because the park is so insanely spread out. There are over 6 or 7 stages, as well. There isn't a big cluster of people to swim through everywhere you go. People are always moving around at Lolla. I was only able to get super close for maybe three or four acts last year, but I was okay with that because there weren't that many I needed to get close for. And as for the camping vs. hotel, it can get pretty expensive to stay in a hotel, but for goodness sakes, its in the heart of Chicago--oh darn, you have to wander the city after the fest. There are wose places to have to stay in a hotel. Don't get me wrong, camping is half of the experience of a festival, but in Lolla's case, I didn't mind going back to the hotel and rinsing off every night.

Well thats reassuring about the crowds...I have heard some horror stories, but I think that was just from people whose only festival experience was Lolla.
I did the hotel festival thing last year in New Orleans for Voodoo, and it was great, just a very different experience. I'm assuming the after shows for Lolla are pretty stellar? That was definitely my favorite part; getting cleaned up and then hitting an awesome club for an after show. Good times.
I love Chicago too. One year...

I know no one cares about Live at Squamish, but they just added Black Mountain, The Dudes, Basstronaut and Guilty About Girls.
