Man, I'm pumped. Getting my friend to pick me up an early bird ticket on Friday while I'm at Coachella.
Just looked at hotels and there are quite a few for under a hundred a night right downtown.
Shax, what were the after shows like last year? Montreal Club scene + after shows sound freaking awesome. Jamie XX or Bran Van would be huge.

Alex, there's no camping. It's a festival in the city. There is a super cheap hotel I stayed at last year downtown that I will reveal once I have tickets and made a reservation.
Womp I didn't go to any of the aftershows last year. Chromeo was playing at one last year, but there wasn't much information on it early and we thought it might conflict with Arcade Fire. By the time we were able to figure out what was going on with it tickets to Chromeo were already sold out. It didn't matter too much because we were already spent as the weather was hot. So my girlfriend and I just went to some pubs and the strippers.
BTW Montreal has an amazing bicycle system in place called Bixi. With a credit card you can rent out 3 speed pedal bikes from these docking stations all over downtown. You ride it to wherever you're going and park it in another nearby docking station. You can see how many bikes and open spots are at each station with a smart phone. Montreal also has a really good network of bike lanes throughout downtown.
Smoke meat sandwiches motherfuckers! I'm excited.

I love how the second stage is called "other stage".
In other festival news that no one on this board cares about but me, Stars and Tommy Sunshine got added to Live at Squamish.

I went to Osheaga last year, it was pretty sick. I just happened to be there when it was going on so this was a huge bonus.
Just stay at a hostel downtown. You can find decent ones for $20-$25 a night. The metro (subway) takes you right to the festival so there is no need to worry about getting there and back as long as you can get to a station.
Doesnt quite have the same vibe as sasquatch since theres no camping, but everyone has a good time and sneaks in booze and whatnot all the same. Theres also cute girls walking around with shots of Jager and JD for $4 and beer guys walking around, which is way more convienent than leaving your spot to grab a beer between shows.
As for the city of Montreal, I think it goes without saying that its probably the most fun city in Canada (at least out of the ones I have been to).

Thurston Moore? Superchunk? My homies Toro Y Moi? Looks like I'm now officially sold on the hipster-fest storm that is Pitchfork. Drew, I sent you a PM.

I'm so excited for Pitchfork!!!!! The three bands I wanted to see this year were AC, Battles and GGD. I got all in one!!!
Anyone else going to Outside Lands?!?!?! Gotta represent the hometown love for Josh Ritter!
Finally, Glastonbury is sure weak considering they're skipping next year bc of the Olympics.

I think I may hit up Outside Lands actually.
Does anyone know the rules on what happens if you have an unpaid speeding ticket in the states? I have one in California, can I not enter the US, or just Cali?

*cough* Do it. Please.
Lineup for Hopscotch comes out Wednesday, so maybe I could entice you two to drive to Raleigh if the lineup's good enough.

This happened to me in Washington state. Not a problem, it's super easy to rectify. The simplest way would be to call the department that specializes in tickets given to tourists and foreigners, I believe it is called the E.K.O.J, the J is for Justice, I can't remember the rest. Anyways, all you need is your name and they can track down any tickets you've incurred. You'll want to do this as it will cause you border issues (believe me, I've learned the hard way) The number is 1-800-495-9410 (from the website, it is 24hrs.). Good luck!
