OSL is always stacked at the top and then doesn't have shit for an undercard. Which sort of makes sense for a festival in a city that gets toured ad nauseum. Last year I only saw Paul McCartney and the National one day, and only like three bands and NIN another day. I did a little bit better than this last year but Drew is spot on. It's hilariously top heavy.

But doesn't it only go until 10? Say most people show up around 4-5. That only leaves time to see a few acts considering the headliners will have at least 90 minute sets.
Why bother making a super deep lineup when most people are only going to see 4 acts a day?

Wow, what a mess for Lolla this year. I would be PISSED.
Osheaga is just straight up better. Unreal.

Bumbershoot is opening up the Memorial Stadium for the main stage this year. They must have something big lined up.

I'm actually interested in checking out Bumbershoot this year... I know a lot of the issues people had with it were related to the mainstage being indoors. I would be extra interested in attending if Modest Mouse are playing, haven't seen them live and they are on my list for sure.

Boonstock is back! And it's actually....not horrible? It's also only like an hour from my house. I might consider heading up for at least one day, if I can work out the whole international border thing.

I know it is a little out of the date range, but I think it is very possible Bumbershoot could have collected some of the failed Julysquatch artists. Maybe Soundgarden. If I ever go to Bumbershoot again I'm getting V.I.P so I don't have to stand in lines when the venues fill up. The tickets are usually cheap enough that it is worth the extra expense. I remember a couple of the shows I saw on the outdoor stages had the worst crowd of angry little hipsters kids I've ever seen. I have to wonder if it isn't always like that.

The only shows that weren't like that last year were Gary Numan and The Breeders. Although we watched from the beer garden so who knows.

Where did it go wrong? There are enough douchebags in the Chicago area to sell 75K passes, so why would they try to make it something the corners of the internet would consider flying to? The fact is, music festivals appeal to the masses now. Therefore, the lineups appeal to the masses. It's not like it was ten years ago. Primavera might be all that's left for actual music fans.

Boonstock is back! And it's actually....not horrible? The top couple lines are not my thing, but there are some decent acts down below. Wolfmother is still a thing?

Goddamn, the truth sure does hurt. Then again, I have always wanted to go to Primavera... If the fallout from this cancellation means a terrible Sasquatch lineup next year, well then, I've got my eye on Barcelona.

Pretty sure they have a new album coming out soon. I only know this because I saw something about a leak the other day.

After some hair pulling and gnashing of teeth when Julysquatch was cancelled, ruining my plans to see gold beard in a candy g- string, I have decided to pull a wild hair and road trip to coachella, weekend tbd. If you have a ticket and/or camping pass, or camping space, or an extra seat... Anywayz, send me a message if you think you might be able to assist in this impulse trip in any way.
and Horned Grandma, check your in box for a private message. And don't be a dick about it. Do it now!
