That shit cray. The schedule is up as well, hooray! rifflandia.com/scheduleI know for sure what I'll be doing Thursday night! Hopefully after Mr. Murphy I'll have enough time to run up to catch some Braids as well. Friday/Saturday nights are going to be a little more crazy thought, 'cause that is a LOT of bands in a LOT of different places. The Orb at Market Square is going to be amazing! Daytime is looking pretty darn swell, although strangely enough it's looking like there's slight overlap between stages? I really don't think the park is big enough for that to work! Any of you crazy kids still thinking of coming over for this? And Darth...the beer will be ours this time!

I'm giving it mild consideration. If I can get time off work and someone else I know is coming from Vancouver, then I'll be there, but those are some big ifs.
I'm not sure how they did that schedule thing, but it seems like shows at the same venue overlap. I think it's just the design they used, but I can't find actual times anywhere.

I went to Outside Lands last weekend. It's a really good festival. I had only ever been to Coachella and Sasquatch before tho, so it was weird to be at a festival where people slept in their beds every night. Crowd definitely not as enthusiastic as I was expecting. I didn't even see that much music, on Friday I saw the National and Paul McCartney, Saturday I saw Thao Nguyen, Grizzly Bear, Tallest Man on Earth and Nine Inch Nails (so glad I got to see that show. Holy shit.) And Sunday a bunch of old dudes. It was cool though, tons of beer and wine and food and chocolate and art and shit like that. Very san francisco cheese and wine kind of crowd, and a lot of 17 year olds, and a lot of babies.

My kids are visiting their mom that weekend so things may get sloppy for a night or two. I'm stoked for Braids Thursday! I am going to see Danny Brown and Action Bronson on Friday which means I might skip most(or all)of Courtney Love to make sure I get in. I'm not worried about missing that train wreck. The last time I saw her was in 1993 (maybe 94) and she was touring with Hole, Bikini Kill and The Breeders... anyways, a couple songs into the Bikini Kill set Love walked out on stage and punched the lead singer in the face, Kim Deal came out to break it up, haha. Anyways, lets have Park beers one sunny afternoon!

I would have paid to see Kathleen Hannah punch her back.

I would have paid to see Kathleen Hannah punch her back. Let's not be too picky, I'd pay to see anyone on that bill punch her.

Driving to California overnight on Thursday for First City Festival. Super-duper stoked about Akron/Family, Deerhunter, Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks and Modest Mouse. Also planning on seeing Passion Pit, Beach House, Purity Ring, The Dodos, Father John Misty, Neko Case, etc. Here's the full lineup if anyone has any other recommendations for me link. Yay for festivals on the beach!

Time booked off for Rifflandia! I had to choose between three awesome weekends in a row, which was a really tough decision. This way I don't have to worry about burying apples on either side of the border so I can eat. Plus Weenie and her guest bed are beat!

Cysquatch: Did you end up going to Total Fest at all? If so, what did you see?

Cysquatch: Did you end up going to Total Fest at all? If so, what did you see? No, I ended up not going. I had a lot of shit to do, and I didn't like the schedule. All the bands except Red Fang got 30 minute set times, and Red Fang got an hour, so I felt like it wouldn't be worth it to travel and everything to see the few bands I wanted. I'm bummed I missed Red Fang, but couldn't justify spending the time and money.
