There's a lot of fun acts on that lineup. I would love to go again this year but that would require me trying to get two days off work and I'm also going to France at the end of that month. Unless I win a contest, I don't think it's in the cards.

What's the sleeping situation up there? Do they have camping? Is there cheap lodging nearby? The festival is 3 nights of shows at various downtown venues, and 3 days of shows at a park about 10/15 minutes walk from downtown. There's not really any accessible camping nearby, but lots of hotel/hostel options. Anywhere near the downtown core will do ya. I'm not too certain if my living situation is going to be the same in September, but if it is I have a backyard that could accommodate a bunch of tents and I'm about a 15 minute walk from the park venue. I also have a spare room but you have to deal with a very nervous puppy barking at you. Would love to see all you guys at what is such a fun little festival!

"apparently overdosing on drugs"? I saw one guy getting rushed out of there, but didn't notice much else. I know after that first scorching day I felt pretty bad myself, and did not do any drugs. I saw a couple people that looked way too fucked up, but looked like they were high on meth or something more than molly.

I was doing a little reading on their Facebook page last night and saw a lot of complaints of theft as well as reports of seeing tons if overdoses.
I already knew that festival wasn't my bag, but Jesus Christ bros, take care if your shit.

Yea, I feel really fucking good about not attending, and don't think I'll ever be attending a major electronic festival again. I did have fun last year, but they're really turning into a cesspool of some of the most awful people on earth. Not to mention lineups that are 80% recycled garbage.

I wouldn't let it turn you away from all Electronic Festivals. Shambhala, from my understanding, is still quite the love fest and they do tons of work in harm reduction and education in responsible partying. There are still drugs, but the attendees just seem a tad more responsible. LiB is supposed to be similar as well, though I can't speak from experience there.
The issue, IMO, is that Paradiso seems to have been every 18-23 year old first "rave" and no one knows what the fuck they're doing. That, and I imagine USC and LiveNation didn't do shit to promote responsible partying or harm reduction. Oh, and thieving asshole bros selling shitty drugs.

Though, for some reason I don't consider Shambhala a major festival. It really seems to be it's own little oasis of like-minded and seasoned electronic fans that, for the most part, doesn't attract that 18-23 year old demographic of kids that are experiencing their first rave.

That's the exact vibe that was at What The Festival as well. Everyone was responsible and under control, which led to a very good festival experience for everyone involved.
It's July now! What The Fest is in THIS MONTH! I'm getting excited.

Maybe I'm just out of the loop, but I thought Molly and ecstasy were the same thing.

They should be, but ecstasy is generally what they refer to as press tabs while Molly is normally a powder that's portioned in to gel caps. Truthfully, they should both be MDA or MDMA but more often then not the press tabs are cut with speed or other drugs... Molly (gelcaps) can just as easily be cut with other things but the general consensus is that it isn't.
