I'm going to sneak in for WAND and then immediately sneak right back out because this lineup ain't my bag, baby. What happened to the good ol' days of Built to Spill and Battles and Deerhunter and The Jesus Lizard and Sonic Youth and Explosions in the Sky and oh fuck am I an old man now?

Seeing as Pemberton has a thing for intriguing bookings, I'm crossing my fingers for a Rammstein set!

Sasquatch needs to get Rammstein next year. They would make an insane late night Bigfoot set, as long as the fire department allows it.

Make no mistake, Rammstein would headline Sasquatch if they ever played.

Robyn's coming to Canada. She was on my 'bring these acts to Pemberton' list last year when they put out a survey.

Robyn's in Canada more than a month before Pemberton. I don't think this is a sign that she'll be at both.

Nice to see The National show up on a poster this year. Hopefully there's a North American tour to go along with it. A Sasquatch late add is probably out of the question, but a show at the Paramount would be a good substitute.

And yes, it's that Jim Breuer and the Regulators, in case you were wondering. Because I was dolphinitely wondering.

It's pretty weird how Ministry seems to still quietly linger around, isn't it?

Just got tickets to this: As of like an hour ago, they have added Mournful Congregation as a headliner.

Have any regulars been to Outside Lands? I'm considering going this year, especially if they booked Radiohead and/or LCD Soundsystem. If you have, will you please share general pros/cons?

Not a regular, but a longtime lurker (and first time poster!). I road tripped to Outside Lands 2013 and here are a few of my thoughts:
Pros: -Golden Gate Park is absolutely gorgeous. Hard to compare any venue to the Gorge, but the park is stunning. -Location close to San Francisco is fun if you want a day to be touristy -Always a great lineup with a big budget. They're a Superfly festivals so there's a decent amount of crossover between Roo. -Big budget = Big name acts
Cons: -No camping--this hurts you in two ways. (1) You lose the inclusive festival type feel and it becomes more of a venue for shows that you commute to rather than a getaway. (2) Paying for hotels in the Bay Area is a pretty expensive addition on top of the festival ticket. -The commute to and from the festival is pretty awful if you're outside of walking distance. Public transportation gets packed with ~70,000 people and the paid parking in the area is extremely limited. -The distance between stages is pretty extreme. One end of the park to the other is ~15 minute walk so you definitely have to commit to a stage and stick it out. Particularly if you want to be close for a big ticket name (LCD, Radiohead etc)
Overall, it was a fun trip and I don't regret making it, but it's important to distinguish between an Outside Lands type fest and a Sasquatch/Roo/Coachella. The crowd there tends to be a bit younger and it's more of a social gathering with music on the side than the other way around. But! I only went once and that was a few years ago so it could be a totally different experience now.
Hope this helps and I'm looking forward to actually contributing here after lurking in the shadows the last few years!

Thanks! I'm not concerned about lodging or commuting because I could stay with friends who live near the park, but it's good to be prepared for the size of the festival.

The non-music side of the festival is really nice too. Tons of amazing local food vendors and local beer. They actually try to make your overpriced $10 festival meal worth the change, unlike sasquatchs prison food. The park is unreal though, seeing grizzly bear there was very special. I would go back. Though I like Sasquatchs dirt and would take an amphitheater and a bad ass undercard over all that.

Osheaga releases their lineup tomorrow at noon.. their first announced artist was Leon Bridges. Last year they had around 15 overlaps (from memory) with Pemby so might get a hint at what's coming to the west coast this summer.

That is annoying, but RADIOHEAD CONFIRMED FOR NORTH AMERICA IN 2016!!

God I hope RHCP stays far away from Pemberton.
