This is amazing. I have had no interest in this festival, but this is a fantastic read for a somewhat boring night. It's interesting to see how Much space a festival takes up when numbers are involved. 17,000 parking spaces seems crazy in space like this.

The most hilarious part of this to me is that if they hadn't said 'lineup at end of January' and followed it up 2 months later with a countdown to nothing, people would just be impatiently waiting. Instead they have royally pissed off not only the potential ticket buyers, but also the people who dished out their money MONTHS ago hoping this year would be different.

I am so fucking glad founders tickets sold out so fast. I would have gotten one, but I was not expecting the sell out that happened.
I can't even comprehend the stupid behind this. I was 99% convinced that the major delay for the lineup was some contractual BS where Outside Lands got to announce an act first. This does not seem to be the case.
How do they not even have the land permit? I though Live Nation had a 10 year lease on the land after the first one. I assumed they sold that to these guys. What an amazing clusterfuck...

I remember reading that Live Nation gave up their rights to the land, or the village revoked them or something. Also that the county and whatever governing body controls that sweet sweet patch of potato farming land all signed off on it being used again.
I'd bet that the meeting next Tuesday is just a rubber stamp deal. Still though. Should have had that wrapped up a long time ago.

Ya, the land rights were revoked after 2008. That is a major reason it never happened again, they weren't able to find another suitable location.

Pemberton's twitter tweeted: quick poll: if we booked kanye but then last minute he had to mysteriously cancel, that would be his fault, not ours. right?
lol. Sad, but true. Still not an excuse. Why wouldn't they at least release somewhat of a lineup now? They're going to lose everything.
Though, if the did put up a stellar lineup it will get heard of and people will jump on it.

For the record I was drinking all say on the golf course ... And I thought I specifically checked that post for spelling mistakes.

THE REAL Pemberton Facebook page posted: We know you've been waiting. We could have released something just OK, but instead we wanted to release our best. It took longer than expected, but tomorrow (April 9) at 9:00am PDT we'll let you be the judge. Lineup will be available here >> bit.ly/1hASVLl*Tickets on-sale this Friday, April 11th at 10:00am PDT* lol why not just release it now?

Nine more hours to go for Pemberton:
Better than nothing. Although, that tweet was posted at 12:08am, so technically after their countdown had run out.

Also, someone mentioned on Facebook that the sneak peek emails were sent out. Not sure if that's true or not."Sneek Peak" <-- lol I could actually see this being a big joke and the organizers just wanting to see the reactions of those that they completely fucked over.. So weird for a music festival to do this, really. The biggest festivals in the world do this wtf is going on. "I hereby grant to Twisted Tree Circus GP LTD (“TT”) the permission and the worldwide right to use and to permit others to use my name, my image, likeness, biographical information and the sound of my voice (collectively, my “Appearance”), as recorded on audio or video tape or via digital, wireless or internet capture for porpoises of trade and advertising, without payment or any other consideration. TT shall be entitled to retain ownership and possession of my Appearance in any media now known or hereafter created. Nothing herein will obligate TT to include my Appearance or afford me any credit or rights, including any “moral rights” in connection with my Appearance. My Appearance may be edited, copied, exhibited, published or distributed in conjunction with the Pemberton Music Festival and I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein I appear. I waive any and all rights, including to compensation, residuals, and royalties arising out of or related to my Appearance."

You need chrome to see it and they will use your computer to film your reaction for a promo video. Kitschy bullshit.
