When I lived in Florida I could get into bars from 19 on, but not everywhere is as lax as they are down there. When I was in this area when I was 18 and 19 it was much much harder to try to get me in unnoticed.

I like this, because I am six years old, can't stay up past midnight, and don't like missing bands I like. I'm seeing Big Boi Thursday pending weather, so the only two of those I'd go for are probably Lil Wayne and maaaaaaaybe Ratatat.

If I knew where to get a fake ID I would probably get one just to get into 21+ shows.

Two Phish sets though? Gross. Does this mean they get to play for 12 hours? I like that Phantogram are making an appearance. I think I have yet to hear of a festival that Phish has plaid where they HAVEN'T played at least 2 sets.

Osheaga in Montreal just released their line up. Seems like a mish-mash of all the other festivals.
Eminem, Elvis Costello & the Imposters, The Flaming Lips play Soft Bulletin, The Tragically Hip, Death Cab For Cutie, Death From Above 1979, Kid Cudi, Bright Eyes, City and Colour, Ratatat, Karkwa, Sam Roberts, Malajube, Bran Van 3000, Beirut, Crystal Castles, MSTRKRFT, John Butler Trio, The Sounds, The Pains if Being Pure At Heart, SIA, Fucked Up, Jaime XX, Claude Von Stroke, Eels, Yoav, Mountain Goats, White Lies, Braids, Lights, Hey Rosetta!, Robot Koch, Shad, Manchester Orchestra, Twin Shadow, Anna Calvi, Smith Westerns, Tokyo Police Club, Galaxie, Jimmy Hunt, PS I love You, Mother Mother, Brother, The Joy Formidable, Natalia Kills, Girl Unit, The Low Anthem, Suuns, The Luyas, Elephant Stone, The High Dials, Passwords, Jesuslesfilles, Typhoon, and many more.
I love Montreal and will definitely try to hit up Osheaga again. I had a blast last year.

is there a festival out there that Twin Shadow aren't playing this year? The Gathering of the Juggalos, but that's only because they are Slipknot fans.

Is Oshega right in the middle of the city? No Camping I'm assuming?
I love me some Montreal, I'm about due for a trip out there....Elvis, The Hip, Cudi, Low Anthem...very tempting. And that's the long weekend too! I might have to really look into this.

What a great excuse to go party in the greatest city in the world!

It's out on the Isle St. Helene just outside old Montreal. Train runs out there. Really well organized festival. Two main stages beside each other that rotate main acts. Big grass hill you can sit on and watch the mains stages. Two other slightly smaller stages not terribly far from each other. The electronic stage is kinda small and gets some sound bleeding. This was all past year's layout anyways. Food in the festival was ok. You can walk around with your beer and IN FACT they have people walking around the crowd selling beer like at a sporting event.

Early bird on sale Friday for $200. It's over the August long weekend.
Awesome. This is pretty much the best week ever.

July 29-31. Last year was 2 days, now it's 3. Early bird tickets are $197.50 CAN all charges included and $217.50 after the early birds are gone. There's more expensive VIP tickets. The only thing VIP related that I saw last year were bleachers set up off to the side of the main stages, so not worth the extra money. Tickets go on sale Friday April 15th. Single day and/or two day passes will go on sale April 21st depending on the 3 day pass sales.

I don't think it sold out last year, but I'm worried about the festival trend of this year. There better be tickets left when I get back from Coachella or puppies will be kicked.

looked into it. tickets are cheap, but flights cost as much as the tickets and I'd have to figure out accomodations (whether that means hotel, or buying a bunch of throwaway camping gear). Would end up costing more than I'm willing to spend.
Fuck me that's a solid lineup though.
