Didn't realize there was a day by day breakdown already. I'll probably just go on Saturday to see Kendrick and Heart.

I am really confused by the fact that Death Cab is playing Transatlanticism, though. Seems like the festival was smart in knowing that old school Seattle fans would blast Death Cab in the ass for playing any of the albums they've put out since signing with a major record label and becmoing a cheesy ass emo-pop boy band. If you're going to go with one of the Barsuk albums, why not Something About Airplanes or even The Photo Album? You know, albums that made them famous in this state, with songs that are written about Seattle/NW, that had them being compared to Modest Mouse and Built to Spill. Albums that remind old school fans that once upon a time this band was cool.

Transatlanticism was the turning point where Death Cab turned from awesome indie band from the NW to big ol' rockers who make bad music. I think that album probably has the most draw, even though I liked The Photo Album much, much more.
Fun story, on an early EP from Death Cab they had a song titled "Song For Kelly Huckaby". I once met Kelly Huckaby who was doing a student teaching thing at my high school in Bellingham while he was still going to Western, where all the Death Cab guys met and I assume were good friends with Kelly. I'm sure he wasn't very impressed when my stupid teenage friend and my stupid teenage self asked him if he knew Ben Gibbard.

Psh, you guys are underselling Transatlanticism. I'm not a big fan but I'm totally fine with that album. It's also the first one they made that could feasibly be played in stadiums. Hell, the first time I saw Death Cab was in 2004 I think playing Transatlanticism at Bumbershoot.

Yeah dude, Sleep Spent, The Face That Launched 1000 Shits, Fake Frowns... basically all of Something About Airplanes is great! I also really love A Movie Script Ending and Why You'd Want To Live Here (the anthem that fueled the epic Seattle vs L.A. rivalry). Transatlanticism isn't complete shit but it's where the shit started to creep in and I don't care at all about seeing it in it's entirety, even though there are a few great songs on there. You make a good point about it being a more "stadium friendly album" though, We Looked Like Giants sounds great live. It's just on the whole I would definitely prefer the earlier albums and I think Seattle is one of the only places they could still get away with playing those old ones in their entirety.

Any lineup that has Fun. as a headliner gets an automatic F grade from me. Like someone else said, you could pick some bands out from the whole list and make a decent one-day lineup but the bands worth seeing are spread out over three days. I absolutely hate the commute to/from downtown Seattle and it would take a lot to get me to even go down there for one day and deal with that gigantic parking mess that happens every year at Bumbershoot. I happen to like Transatlanticism a lot, but I've seen Death Cab live way too many times in the past 5 years to justify dealing with the inner-Seattle headache.

I really don't know why I'm defending this lineup but I really think you guys are underselling it. Keep in mind that tickets are 1/3rd of the cost of Sasquatch and more in line with Capitol Hill Block Party. Here's the stuff I would want to see on just Saturday:
Heart, Kendrick, Crystal Castles, Gary Numan, !!!, Icona Pop, Joey Badass, Washed Out, Thao, Diamond Rings, Nacho Picasso

I probably won't ever go to Bumbershoot or any other minimal capacity festival again without getting VIP tickets. I don't want to have to show up several sets early just to insure I'll get to see the couple of artists I showed up for. There are maybe a half dozen artists on that lineup I might go out of my way to see, but it's definitely not worth going that far out of my way. I was crossing my fingers for NIN or HTDA, but still no PNW dates.

I'd pay twice the price of Bumbershoot admission to see Deerhunter, add the Men and that is definitely happening. Add a Gary Numan and !!! party with Cbats and I'll probably just buy the weekend pass. Bumbershoot is hardly amazing, but definitely worth it.

For Bumbershoot, that lineup is actually pretty good. Better than the past few years, at least. Deerhunter/Crystal Castles/Bassnectar/Nacho Picasso/Bob Mould man...,

I really hope they have deerhunter closing down fisher green instead of sticking them in key arena...That would get me down there...
The Kills were excellent a few years back when they did...

Once Sir Paul was confirmed I had to book Outside Lands. Hopefully this time I can catch the Growlers who I missed both times I went to FYF Fest due to conflicts.

Holy shit, it's been a hot minute since I've been on here. Happy to see some names I still recognize. Had to pop in and see what everyone thinks about the Outside Lands lineup. Nothing especially fantastic, but I'm pretty much going since it's the only festival I'll be in the states for this year. And, obviously, I'm going for RHCP as well. Streaming music is a complete impossibility (Yay for 3rd world internet) and I'm starting to kind of feel like an alien as I'm looking at some of the acts toward the middle and bottom of the lineup that I have seriously never heard of. Anyone have advice on what not to miss?

Shit. Those are some good additions. I'd love to see Beck again. I might have to consider going again.
