For those with past experience w/ Squamish, how quickly does it sell out? And how quickly does camping & "glamping" sell out? it falls on the same weekend as Shambhala (last year there was only a one day cross over) That is what I was referring too.

If I dont buy camping now and it sells out, what other options are there for camping/staying in the area?

Back yards and parking lots...

... Do I have to pay to stay in a parking lot? How much do people charge for their backyard?

I'm mostly joking, but we did stay in a friends back yard last year. It was free. I'm not sure if other people charge to let strangers sleep on their property. There are lots of provincial campgrounds around if you want to book those, but you'd have to do that super early too.

How much do people charge for their backyard? You can usually find it for free on Craigslist.

If I dont buy camping now and it sells out, what other options are there for camping/staying in the area? You can try to find someone to split camping with on Craigslist. In the last couple of years they sold camping as passes for 2 or 3 people, so sometimes people have an extra wristband you can get in on. Or you can just try sneaking in, which has proven to be the easiest method the last two years. But don't just bank on doing that, things could always be different this year.

Scratch the Craigslist advice for getting in on people's passes - just went to the site and it looks like camping passes are being sold as singles this year. So I guess you'll just have to see what the supply/demand ends up being on the secondary market (camping is really limited though so it has been the hardest thing to get in the past).

Camping is still sold in pairs, but they price it per ticket. The only option on ticketmaster is 2 or 4 tickets. I guess it makes it look cheaper.
The first year I went I slept on the couch of some people that my brother hardly knew. Check craigslist or the facebook page and see if anyone will have you over in exchange for beers or tits or whatever. You're also welcome to camp with whoever I end up going with too.
Empty how did you manage to post so coherently on the internet while being much less coherent in the real life?

From what I could tell, only Glamping is in pairs. Regular camping should still be singles. (at least that's what I got from the site)

They changed the name so that thread is useless now.
Good call about the glamping in pairs, I missed that you could get single regular camping.

Well I reserved a hotel room since it looks like theres no charge now and no charge for cancellation... Im cheap as balls right now. So I'll buy a ticket monday, and then when I'm less broke look into getting a camping pass. If we can't get camping passes, at least we have a hotel room! Bam!

If QOTSA and Pretty Lights play on the same day I think I would venture up to Canadia land for a day of this. However, I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to do Shambhala or not which is the same weekend. It really all depends if I can score 2 weekend 2 tickets to Coachella or not. No Coachella = Yes Shambhala
