I wouldn't say most... but if you plan ion throwing a party, it's a must.

Most people definitely do not bring generators. Solar and battery powered lights are common, or you can buy camp lights that run on propane. If you want to bring a gas generator you had better plan a massive party that will drown out the sound of the engine. Be considerate about when you have it running as well, i.e. not late at night (unless aforementioned party is raging) or early in the morning while I'm sleeping off my hangover from your party the night before.

What do you run off it, Fox? Does it ever die on you over the course of the weekend? Some friends and I have looked into similar models in the past but haven't invested in anything.

Ya, it died on us last year for sure. We were letting ppl charge cellphones, running a stereo etc. You can recharge it off your cars battery but you need the car to be running to make sure you don't kill the car battery. We bought the biggest one we could get and it made it about 2 days before it was dead. I won't be letting random ppl charge cell phones this year and we should get some extra time out of it. Probably still won't last the whole weekend unless we run the car for a bit.

People, please don't bring propane lanterns or other heat-generating sources of light into the campground. I don't want to die a fiery death.
If you catch one tent on fire, pretty soon there will be roughly 30,000 tents on fire. Sayin'.

I have run everything from a noisy generator, an really quiet Honda generator to last year I installed an inverter with additional batteries. Now I can have silent power at night and for breakfast. It works really well. Just if you need a generator, get a Honda Eu1000 or 2000. They are nice and quiet.

Well, it's true that having a propane lantern is more of a fire hazard than not, but as long as you exercise the same degree of caution as you would a camping stove you'll be fine. There's a right way to do it and many wrong ways.

That thing was such a lifesaver last year, considering my old cell phone's battery had the lifespan of a fish out of water. I'm still baffled as to how my car battery died since I pretty much only used your gadget for my charging.

If that was going to happen it would have already happened years ago at Warped tour, and they love setting port-o-potties on fire anyway.

We're all dying fiery deaths next year now. I hope your happy.

This will be my first year at Squatch! I doubt it, but still wondering, are you allowed to have campfires? Thanks! There are some hay bales out back.. They should keep everyone nice & toasty..

It was so sweet when everyone was partying on top of that big ass stack of hay bales... That was fun to fry to.

Ahhhhh it was the great fire season of '07.. Where immaturity & fucked-upness ruled the land..
I had the privilege of being at both of these fires.. The great honey bucket fire was a disaster to say the least.. DMB fire was the most beautiful act of arson I've ever witnessed!
1st Campfire @ The Gorge - July 2007
2nd Campfire @ The Gorge - September 2007

I was at Bestival on the Isle of Wight this year, and they had a giant wicker castle in the festival grounds that they turned into a giant bonfire amid a massive fireworks display on the last day. It was great.
They had tons of awesome stuff going on at the festival aside from just the music. I wish Sasquatch would take a page from their book, but I realize the Gorge is a bit limited for space.

If that EVER happens at Sasquatch I will seriously question ever going back.
