if anyone is interested in playing English Premiership Fantasy Soccer (Football) - i created a league on www.premierleague.comit's free to play and super easy. it doesn't require nearly as much work as, say, fantasy baseball. here's the code you would enter when you join a league: 1048344-247648

it's officially English Premiership season!!!!
here's my first prediction for how the season will end for the top half, as well as the three teams who will get relegated...
1. Man City 2. Man Utd 3. Liverpool 4. Chelsea 5. Arsenal 6. Everton 7. Tottenham 8. Aston Villa 9. Fulham 10. Sunderland ... 18. Swansea 19. Wolves 20. Norwich

it pains me to admit that my beloved Gunners will probably finish out of the top 4. Arsene Wenger has done absolutely nothing to shore up the defense - which has long been Arsenal's biggest weakness.
Meanwhile, Man City looks primed to win the league - as they've bought every fucking player out there. Normally that would piss the fuck out of me, but if it means that Man Utd won't win the Premiership I'll be just fine.

Holy fuck I literally watched 90 minutes of a game that ended in a 0-0 tie. Call them "kits," call them "matches," call them "pitches," play with your fucking scarves, but holy shit please just end with a winner and a loser. I know that ending on penalty kicks is viewed as a cheap finish or whatever but IF YOU CANNOT SCORE IN NINETY MINUTES THEN FUCK YOU.

Barcelona finally snatched Fabregas away from Arsenal... something along the line of £35 million.
on one hand i'm glad this over...
on the other it irritates me to no-end just how petty and childish Barcelona has been over the past 3 seasons. Fabregas is rated as one of the most talented midfielders in the world - and has more assists than anyone on the planet since 2006 - and Barcelona's never-ending lowballing of Arsenal and their daily tugging on Cesc's 'i wouldn't mind playing in my hometown' heartstrings - as well as their constant pathetic pleads in the press for him to return to Spain finally won the player over. Fabregas' worth around £45 million and is Arsenal's captain but now we just sold him for less than his actual worth.
Arsenal developed Fabregas into the player he is today and now Barca get to reap those rewards... as if Barcelona even needed him in the first place.
FUCK YOU BARCA.

The Sounders and FC Dallas were the first two MLS teams to ever win in Mexico last week. Both matches were part of the CONCACAF Champions League group stage. With LA's win last night the MLS is on top in each of the four groups. This is a pretty big deal for American soccer since the MLS has always struggled in this competition and playing on Mexican turf. The icing on the cake is that the team the Sounders just beat (CF Monterrey) was this year's CCL champion. Kind of a big deal that we won that match.
Pretty proud of my boys right now. Currently 2nd place overall in the MLS, 1st place in the CCL, and a home match US Open Cup semi-final next Tuesday.

They're mostly all on Fox Soccer. Matches are always live and usually start between 5-7pm.
Err. Pacific time.

once again, i just DON'T see anybody beating Barcelona in the Champions League. They are far away the best team out there...
combine their top-notch talent with their top-notch whining to the refs every 5 seconds, they're utterly unstoppable.

The MLS is trying to turn NY and LA (go figure) into their own little star-studded Barcas. The experiment has failed miserably in NY but LA is scary fucking good right now. The signing of Bobbie Keane only made things worse.
