Archer is SO funny. Great cast. Anyone see the Red Wine Boys at Squatch a couple of years ago? YES! (See every post where I talk about how Todd Barry is my favorite comedian.) They are the indirect cause of me getting kicked out due to red wine in a sprite bottle.

Aww lumps, you were that kid who got kicked out during the Red Wine Boys? I saw that happen. Actually, it wasn't till the next day. I got away with it that day. The next day I thought, "I should do this again." Obviously, I was wrong. However, at the normal Todd Barry set that year, he DID get me kicked out of the VIP stand (which I only sat in because THERE WAS NO ROOM AT ALL ANYWHERE ELSE IN THAT TENT) When he came to Charleston though, I told him about that story and his response was, "And how did that make you feel?"

Am I the only one who finds Archer to be a total dream boat? Those eyes are some kinda blue.

You'll get hate, but goddamnit yes I am. I can't stop watching it. I even listened to the first two books in the series. Shit's stupid, but I love it.

Because Skins is just the absolute worst, unless you're twelve and think Tony is hot (Maxxie's the actual hot one IMHO) there is no reason to ever watch this. Perhaps the accents are "charming" all of you into not seeing past the the most bloated soap opera lazy writing.
Some good UK/Ireland stuff.
Father Ted (Slapstick Funny, very funny old style comedy) Spaced (Simon Peg) Black Books (not for everyone, but really funny) Peep Show (Crazy!) Teachers (Grimes from Walking Dead! Also it's like Skins, but with Teachers so this might be a jackpot) The Inbetweeners (An actual representation of crude, hormone driven adolescence in Britain) The Thick of It (amazing) Luther (Stringer Bell! But kinda weak asides from that, but miles above Skins) Extras (Ricky Gervaise)
There's more and they all have accents, so try 'em. No more Skins, it's just Gossip Girl with accents.

I would have to say its more important that Edgar Wright made spaced, as opposed to saying Simon Pegg is in it. IMHO.

Wow, I picked the wrong week to spend away from the internets. I've spent a large portion of today catching up on these threads and I still have more to go! Anyway, I thought I'd weigh in here. Most of my favorite shows have already been listed (see the majority of shows listed in HG, Friendly D, and Pea's posts) but I'll list a few here for emphasis: 1) Parks and Recreation. One of the greatest comedies on network television right now. It's like someone took The Office and cranked the Cringe Knob way down. Aziz Ansari is hilarious, and the guy who plays Andy is my other favorite. And I love the recent addition of Adam Scott and Rob Lowe to the cast. If you're undecided about giving the show a try, and refer you to exhibit A: graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2010/12/09/arts/pyramid/pyramid-jumbo.jpg I rest my case. 2) The Wire. I've never met anyone who has seen this show and not loved it. Complex story lines, deep character development, ballsy writing; this show has it all. One of HBO's many masterpieces. 3) Boardwalk Empire. Finally a showcase of Steve Buscemi's talent! They're only 1 season in, and it just gets better and better from beginning to end. Another HBO home run. Plus, they did well at the SAGs tonight. 4) Arrested Development. I am a huge Seinfeld fan, and AD and Curb Your Enthusiasm really continue on in a similar tradition. Never a dull moment in this show! One of my favorite comedies of all time for sure. And now for a few that haven't been mentioned: 5) Clone High. The theme song to this show really sums up the plot well, but I'll have a go: basically, it's a cartoon about clones of famous people from history (eg. Abe Lincoln, JFK, Gandhi, Joan of Arc, etc) that all go to the same high school. It's hilarious, and got canceled after one season due to not being PC enough. 6) The Big Bang Theory. At first I thought that some of the characters in this show were insufferable so it took me a while to get into it, but now I'm definitely a fan. Sheldon is by far the hardest character to like, but if you can get beyond his constant grating idiosyncrasies he really is quite funny. I'm a science nerd myself so I can relate to some of the characters, although I like to think that I have more developed social skills. I don't put this show up with all the rest I've listed, but since I do enjoy it and I didn't see it mentioned before I thought I'd include it. 7) East Bound and Down. Kenny Fucking Powers! Danny McBride has outdone himself in this one. It's an HBO show about a washed-up ex-pro-baseball player, who also happens to be a misogynistic racist egotist, who is forced to move back to his hometown and start his life over as a regular person. Well, regular is not a good description of him in any way, but I don't want to give away too much. This is not a show for everyone. I call it "guy humor" but I know of some women who find it as funny as I do and some men who think that it's garbage. You'll have to be the judge. Thanks for the advice regarding Archer! I haven't checked it out yet, but judging by what I've read in here so far I think I'll really enjoy it. I've also see a couple episodes of Party Down and it did look promising, but there's just something about Jane Lynch that I dislike. I've never liked any of her characters. I've also never seen Glee, but I'm not in a hurry to watch that one.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eastbound and Down is so effin funny. And I've just been rewatching party down, and every episode has made me Laugh out Loud at least three times, a rare accomplishment for any show other than AD.
