But can I get a charger charger charger? cuz my phone battery dies quick like... Before you say it, the answer to your next question is yes, I patented that too. And that.

Any of yinz guyz use canopies at your site?
I was considering one, especially since we'll more than likely be going to Bonnaroo this year, too. I am keeping my eyes peeled for a cheap, lightweight, but sturdy one.
I'm accepting suggestions at this time.

We had been wanting a canopy for years and we finally got one. It made all the difference in the world. It united surrounding campsites because it is a good gathering place, and it was indispensable in the mornings where it starts getting hot early. You have a nice shady spot to chill in before you hike over to the venue. I would highly recommend the investment. Although, for you guys, how would you transport something like that? It is not huge in the box but it is definitely not small. I will try to find a picture that looks like ours.

Yeah, that's the biggest hurdle about the said-canopy. Transporting a tent isn't bad. Canopies are a toooootally different story.
Soulz, you still planning on going to Bonnaroo? We should try to hang out!

I think this was around $90-$100 and at the time we went in on it with a friend.

I think it's about 50/50 at this point.. I will be there if:
-I get my tax return back from my stupid asshole of a previous employer- -My new roadtrip friend agrees to make the journey with me -I have the balls to quit my job -I find a new job for when I come back -I don't die between now and then -My car doesn't die between now and then

That's not tooo bad, Storm.
How much does it weigh?
And it looks pretty bulky even when folded up. Though, you're going to get that with any canopy.
humph. We probably won't be able to make it happen unless we want to shell out an absurd amount to ship it on the plane.

Not sure how much exactly but it is not light. It would probably cost quite a bit to have it on the plane since they charge for everything now. I know there are less bulky ones, but this was a little less likely to blow away or fall down.

Canopies are great. I invested in one for last year's Sasquatch and it really came in handy. Great shade when it's sunny, and cover when it's rainy. Although last year the weather was quite mild, it really can get extreme sometimes so it's nice to be prepared. As Stormy said it's also a great meeting point for your campsite mates. We strung up lights for night time ambiance as well. Last year people put their coolers underneath it to keep them out of the direct sun and prolong the lifetime of their ice. Canopies rule! You can definitely find one for under $100. Just keep an eye on sporting goods stores and Craigslist.
That being said, you guys are flying in and bringing a canopy that far would be a bitch and a half. If I were you I'd ditch the idea and try and buddy up with some people who do have one. Maybe even someone on this board...

How did you power the lights on it Wolfy?

How did you power the lights on it Wolfy? Solar string lights from Ikea. They worked really well. They charged during the day, and then turned themselves on once the sun went down. The lights were on welcoming us home from the festival each night. Made it easier to find our site, too. I bought two strings of the red ones: There are also battery operated lights you can buy on eBay among other places. No welcome home with those, though!

I need to find a new canopy off Craigslist before Sasquatch. I had a great one like Stormy's last year but I borrowed it from my dad and it has since been destroyed by another person In other news, my brand spankin' new double tall queen sized air mattress with built in pump arrived at my front door yesterday! Gonna be sleeping like a baybay this year.

Those lights seem wonderful. I can just imagine everyone going out and getting some and then not being able to find their place because the sites all look the same. Or am I the only person who would have that problem? I often find myself at the wrong car because it looks like mine.
