And that, my friends, is a visual summary of the past 3 weeks of my life.

Does anyone know anything about ornithology? I have studied it before but that is a pretty broad question.

This actually sounds really stupid now that I'm about to ask it but what else is new.
I was driving and a flock of birds took off. Several went around me but others had to stop for me to pass because they weren't fast enough to catch up. What happens to those birds? Does the larger flock stop and wait? Does the flock just keep going and the ones I delayed then have to find them by chirping and whatnot? Did I just break up a family?

I wonder that kind of stuff, but I do not know the answer. I wouldn't think that you broke up a family because if they couldn't handle one upset to the flock then how would they ever migrate?

I think that they all know where they're headed. It's built into each of them, like GPS - they're not just following papa bird.
