It's what I do. I'm a supervisor for one of the big three cellular companies in Canada. I talk to angry people. After 6:15 PST we only get calls from the west coast or Alberta. On top of that, since we only deal with the angry ones in my dept. we don't take as many calls as the rest of the employees. I will probably take 3 maximum for the rest of my shift.
Haha, most people think the job is shit, but it's actually really great. Most of the time people are only huffing and puffing to get a discount. We give them those, and they go on their merry way, most of the time apologising for being jerks in the first place.
It gives me tons of time online, which is both a blessing and a curse. I am going to look up this game, but it may not work on the work computer...
I used to work in a call centre for Cingular/AT&T as a 'Resolutions Specialist'. It was fun making them more angry them calming them down, then pissing them off again and giving them like 100 free anytime minutes. By the end of it they just wanted to be off the phone, so they'd take anything.
Haha, I promise my approach is nicer than this... It all comes down to treat people as you would like to be treated. If you come at me with an attitude, don't expect me to give you the moon. Explain things calmly and with some form of logic, and chiggity chancey chance the chiggity champ of champion chancellorss are you will get what you are looking for. (within reason)
