Just so everyone with my American number knows, it will be out of commission until Sasquatch. I didn't have the time or money to pick up a phone card when I was in Seattle last time, and now I have to re-activate it next time I come down.

I forgot I made this after last weekend. For your consideration, Burrito. I won't be offended if you don't want to use it though haha.

So I am sitting here on my laptop with my headphones on and I paused my Itunes to watch the Purple Bottle video, and then after it was over this weird electronic industrial music started playing. There were no moving ads in any of my tabs, and none that looked like they would play music. It lasted about a minute and I didn't find the source. Now I'm wondering if I am crazy.

It didn't blow my mind, but I would like to hear it again.

THIS JUST IN:Raspberry Beret has been stuck on a loop in my head (just the chorus) for over a week now. That is all.

So either I'm going totally fucking nuts, or there is something wrong with my computer. Today, with my headphones on but no music playing, I hear "You've got mail' really fucking loud. I had not browser windows open and my no new emails.

Sounds like you're going nuts, no one has AOL anymore. That or someone installed something weird on your computer to fuck with you.

So either I'm going totally fucking nuts, or there is something wrong with my computer. Today, with my headphones on but no music playing, I hear "You've got mail' really fucking loud. I had not browser windows open and my no new emails. Ever since my Zune died, I listen to music on my phone. One day at work I was listening to Saturdays = Youth and I heard my name. I pulled my headphones off and turned around to see who had snuck up behind me. Nobody there. A few minutes later I heard my name again and quickly turned around. Still no one around. This happened a few more times during the day and I finally got fed up and started accusing co-workers of fucking with me. I was met with a lot of confused looks. A few months later, I was listening to the same album before I passed out and I heard my name again. I took my headphones off and walked around the house and no one was there. This probably happened 80% of the time I listened to that album. Last year when I was in Portland to see Justice and M83, I was about to pass out after the Justice show when I decided to listen to that album again. Every 30 seconds or so I would hear my name. I finally hit pause right after I heard it and the voice kept going. What I heard was a distorted voice message from my bank wanting me to call them to update my address. The first thing he said was my name and was just loud enough to hear over the music. The rest of the message was so quiet that I couldn't have heard it until I paused the music. This message was from 2 years ago, and wasn't saved to my phone.

That is fucking creepy, dude.
One time I put a CD copy of the Notwist's Neon Golden into my Discman, and when I hit play it started playing Arab Strap's Monday at the Hug and Pint. Played the whole damn disc, and I was too weirded out by it to turn it off and put on the album I wanted to hear in the first place.
There are three clues in this post which indicate that the story it tells was set in 2001. See if you can find them all!

I never realized how frightening music ghost stories could be. I'm legitimately chicken-skinned over here.

They're pretty rare; honestly Gibbons' is the first I've ever heard that approximates my own (and his is MUCH creepier). But yeah, for something so innocuous I sure lost some sleep over that shit.
