First Concert Attended: Green Day at the drive-in theater when Warning came out (jealous much?) Is that sarcasm? Anyway, fuck yes to Oneohtrix at Sasquatch.

My wife's first show was Green Day on the tour for Dookie. Of THAT I am jealous. People who still take Green Day seriously make me sad though. And that includes people who still defend, like, Insomniac as "classic Green Day".

Haha, do people really call Insomniac "classic"? More like "tipping point into redundancy" Green Day. Regardless, I too wish I could've seen that bright blue Billie Joe 'do.

Insomniac is still one the most angry punk(?) albums of the 90's. Green Day was my first show as well. I was lucky that it wasn't littered with 21st Century Breakdown. I heard Going to Pasalacqua, Christie Road, and Welcome to Paradise so I was pleased with the show.

That Dookie show was rad. That was the first time I had someone offer me a joint. I did not partake as I was like 12. My friend and I won tickets over the radio. Good times.
Welcome new folks! Hooray Sasquatch goers!

I took my dads Dookie cd and listened to it on my walkman in 3rd grade when I wasn't listening to Everclear or Smashmouth

That's funny that so many of out first concerts was Green Day. I had been to a couple with my dad as a kid (Doobie Brothers being the only one I remember) but the first concert I ever went to with friends was the Warning tour with Blink 182 and Jimmy Eat World.

I saw them for the first time on the American Idiot tour. Pretty solid show. Don't think I need to see them ever again.

Seriously. Everyone I know, including my little brother and all his friends who are 10 years younger than me saw Green Day first. I don't work for Green Day or anything, but you saw them on the "Pop Disaster" tour in 2002 after the greatest hit/b-side albums, as opposed to the Warning tour in 2000/2001. I know this because that was the second concert I ever attended. Equally fine shows.

I like Insomniac I like most of their songs off of most of their albums. It's just slowly turned from Punk to a weird political pop punk. I still think American Idiot was a fantastic record. (I was also 9 when it came out.)

How old are you Drew? I was also 9 when Insomniac came out, but I didn't think you were much older than me.

Thanks - it was very cool. The fetus is an amazing little thing. I was studying the production of amniotic fluid, which is all fetal urine after 14 wks - cool fact, if an adult peed as much as a fetus per kg, we would pee about 44 liters a day - which would make the Sasquatch honey buckets pretty unbearable. ...so I was swimming in my own piss for seven months? As it is in the beginning, so it will be in the end......
