They did not. There was a scheduling conflict as a result of the Saskatoon venue having limited availability. Or at least that's the story I heard. Too bad. At least you got to see them here! Sounds like that would have been a cool trip. I did something similar when I went up to Commonwealth to see U2 on the Popmart tour. It was an interesting way to attend a show.

I will not bitch about loud friday I promise. I usually enjoy the loud music. Its the quality of loud music that I have a problem with. I dont know much of anything about the other bands playing on friday and I am having a really hard time getting into any of them. Especially that Biffy dude. For some reason after watching their video for "The Captain" I can't get the thought that the lead singer reminds me of a younger version of the live action pirate on SpongeBob.

I'm still kicking myself for not going to Popmart at Commonwealth. I did go see them in Vancouver in October 2009 though, and it was pretty sweet. They sure know how to put on a spectacle of a show, there's no denying that. I've seen AF twice now, and I honestly think that the Funeral tour was better. Belle Orchestre and Wolf Parade opening at Red's right while Arcade Fire was starting to get some attention.

^U2 put on a hell of a show for sure. I saw the Popmart tour and then the "All That You Can't Leave Behind" Tour on back to back nights at the 'Dome. First night was in the stands and then the second night I was on the floor. Very cool.
I remember that AF tour. They played at Mac Hall at the UofC, but at the time I was living in Regina so I missed it, figuring they'd be back through soon enough. Funny that it was almost 4 years later. The same thing happened when Muse played at Mac Hall...mised while living in Regina. Next time they came back was two albums later and they played the 'Dome! Decent enough show but would have loved to have seen them at the university. Fucking Regina!

They're a perfect late stage act. With a new album soon I'm sure they will be making the "festival circuit" next year. Not like that means anything though, just wishful thinking

BURN.
I wonder what the actual numbers look like though. Like what percentage of Sasquatch goers are Canadian?

So true. I end up feeling outnumbered every single year. That's just because for every Canadian, there are four Canadian flags.

I can already smell a Sasquatch 2012 Justice late night set. I could be slightly off with this prediction, but I do believe Justice is one of the largest EDM acts in the world, and could/would headline the main stage if they were on the lineup (assuming their new album isn't a complete flop). Wouldn't that be cooler anyway?

I could be slightly off as well, but I would probably place them next to deadmau5 in terms of popularity. Though, I also believe that since his 2010 appearance deadmau5 has catapulted himself into stardom further than Sasquatch would ever care to afford again. Again, wishful thinking for sure. I had myself convinced that Daft Punk or The Chemical Brothers had the potential of landing up in the 2011 lineup so my opinion is definitely overshadowed by pipe dreams.

Kinda Sorta Still a lurker here, so WTH: Name: jeremiah What my user name represents/means: my first name, for realz Favorite Bands: REM, U2, BT, Chris Botti, CCR, Morgan Page, Oscar Petersen, Aphex Twin, Brian Eno My All-Time Favorite Artist: REM First Concert Attended: Metallica Last Concert Attended: Sarah Brightman All time Favourite Concert: U2 (PopMart), followed by REM when they were in Calgary All time Favourite Festival: Only festival I've ever been to is Shambhala, and that was 10 years ago. Sasquatches Attended: 0 Sasquatch Wishlist: For me, live shows are more about the energy and the crowd than the music. For acts I've seen before, 54-40 and Bif Naked. For acts I've never seen live, the Chemical Brothers or Crystal Method.
Edit: Bjork would also be fun at Sasquatch. Had a blast seeing her outdoors in Montreal in August 2003.
