New guy! New guy! Does he suck!? I don't know! He seems to want to NOT suck so he's got that over the recent crop...
Funny thing about you, lurker-dude, is that you would always sign in when you would read the board so I always would wonder who the hell is this mrmoon1?? What does he think about, what does he feel?? Is he in any way affiliated with that wintermoon gal who used to hang around?
So many questions, but your first item of business is to select an avatar. How can we decide what to think of you unless you have an avatar!? Hup, hup!

Sometimes I wonder how many mrmoon's there are out there just skulking around the board every day, watching our lives like peeping toms.
Panopticon.

I won't lie, there is something fundamentally creepy about lurking on a forum like this. Small group here, we all know each other pretty well. The comings and goings of our daily lives are there for mrmoon to peruse at his leisure.
The question now is, will he ever come back and actually start posting or did he just get really drunk last night and break his silence accidentally?

Next year let's set a meeting place for all lurkers, and we'll go and it'll just be a bunch of people standing around and looking sheepishly at each other

There was a perimeter of lurkers completely surrounding the board gathering at the Glowpocalypse. Creeeeepy folk, lurkers.

But if people dont lurk for a while then they just show up demanding answers to questions (a la Mase) with no idea how the board works. HG probably would have run half the people off the board if they didnt have some idea that he did that to everyone.
There is something creepy about someone who is content to just read posts all day and doesnt have any desire to ever post anything.

I'm all for lurking for a little while -- but mrmoon1 sez he's been lurking for years. That's creepy but in a cute kinda way.
His first post was asking about Residents recommendations, though. For better or worse that always causes me to cut people a little slack.

There is something creepy about someone who is content to just read posts all day and doesnt have any desire to ever post anything. I think it depends on the forum. I'm not nearly as knowedgeable as most of the people who post on soccer boards, so I usually just lurk those to learn new things and get my soccer news. On a board like this, however, where 3/4 of the year consists of a small cast of posters and inside jokes, lurking does indeed become a bit creepy.

I felt pretty intimidated whilst lurking. The intelligence level around here makes it pretty hard to write that first post without fear of sounding brainless and being soundly mocked.

I am transfixed by your new avatar, weenie.
And for what it's worth I feel like you've been right at home here since your very first post.

I felt pretty intimidated whilst lurking. The intelligence level around here makes it pretty hard to write that first post without fear of sounding brainless and being soundly mocked. I'm clearly dumber and less articulate than the majority of posters here, and 75% of my posts are of instant messenger quality, but I think I'm pretty friendly and try not to ask stupid questions, so I think I get my pass that way. That's all it really takes to get along in here. Plus I'm fairly grandfathered in at this point and have an extremely impressive post count

Pea is and always has been in the top five posters here. He gives Friendly D a run for his money when it comes to being the flat-out nicest dude in town. And whenever bullshit rears its ugly head, he's totally a ghost and that is admirable.
O hai, another fighting thread. I'm outta here. Makes me feel like a ruffian and a scoundrel on a daily basis. If Pea ever left, I feel like this forum would crumble and fall shortly after.

I still cant get over the first time I saw 'mrmoon' I read 'mormon' so now I want to quote south park even though it would make no sense.
Also I like that the Arcade Fire thread is about lurkers and the Now playing thread is about Arcade Fire.

There's nothing wrong with Mormons. Except that they're mostly insufferable zealots and they don't let me attend my brothers and sisters' weddings. I wouldn't be the half-crazed, drug-addled sociopath I am without the Mormon church.
