McCartney all day,
RAM Band on the Run Venus and Mars Self Titled Red Rose Speedway Tug of War
Has anyone ever given London Town a real good listen? I've never got around to that one in all these years, never once! Thoughts?
Speakin' of those pesky albums you leave on the back burner, I just want to give a HUGE thank you to Gramma and Stormy for forcin' me to get Talking Heads Naked. Amazing guys! Came to my door on friday and I've probably heard it all the way through ten times. Thanks again.

tyler, the creator - tron cat on repeat Probably my least favorite he has done so far. Well it is definitely the least immediate, give me a week or so. Although there are some pretty interesting lyrics in there, yikes!

I'm a little worried how unfazed I am by lyrics like "rape a pregnant bitch and tell my friends I had a threesome"
song is still damn good though. Supposedly the version on Goblin is different though

Yeah, I'm a little surprised at how well-received the Odd Future gang is with all the rapey lyrics and such.

I've been pretty into them for like 5 months now, I stopped being offended after a while and now it's just kind of ridiculous. For the most part I like them better when they aren't being completely offensive (mellowhype's stuff is fairly innocent compared to tyler) but the lyric I posted is pretty hysterical. I'm hoping tyler gets over it soon but based on tron cat I'm guessing that there is going to be more of it on goblin.
They played a show in england the same day as the royal wedding and had the crowd chant "william's a ******." I'm not sure that I would be comfortable doing that either

I personally don't really care either way, but I feel like I even have feminist friends who are in love with Odd Future and it's just like, "wait. huh?"
I'm surprised even with the power of Pitchfork they can get so damn accepted. And I haven't heard of anybody talking about them negatively even mention the offensive lyrics, it's usually just other, less important stuff.
I dunno, it's just confusing.

it's definitely confusing. There have been a lot of ridiculous pieces written trying to reconcile the lyrics with any sort of morals but they are almost all horrible. I kind of justify it by saying that it's only meant to get a rise out of people and they don't mean any of it (which is true) but it still bugs me that there are a lot of people who won't see it that way and use it to justify homophobia and sexism (see: 16 year olds).
Then again it's not like this is the only media that gets misused, I've had a hell of a time explaining to some friends how it's not appropriate to use the N word even if you're trying to quote the Wire

The only negative thing I have heard is that there live show is fucking awful; although I have also heard the exact opposite, who do I believe?

Aside from the coachella performance everyone is raving about their show. It's incredibly unpolished and they're still performing with backing tracks but look at this crowd, they're obviously doing something right
