Damnit! I was just coming on here to brag about how awesome 2.5 hours of Bradford Cox was and I see that you were there. Wish I would have checked the board before going to the show That show was incredible. Atlas Sound was way more electronic fuckery than the last time I saw him do an Atlas Sound set. It would go from dreamy to scary in an instant. Such a fantastic set but I wish I was able to get closer to the front. I loved how he just stayed up there and transitioned from Atlas Sound to Deerhunter. No stops or anything. DEERHUNTER. That was my first time seeing a headline set from them. Can we talk about a 14 minute Nothing Ever Happened? The new songs sounded fantastic, too. Listening to Fading Frontier a lot and I thought that it was more tame than other releases but they fucking pummeled the crowd with those songs. I loved that show so much. Dude. I got the cane. Awesome! From back where I was standing it looked like it must have been a scuffle up there. Bradford muttered "it's just a cane guys". Did you have to throw some 'bows?

Dude. I got the cane. Awesome! From back where I was standing it looked like it must have been a scuffle up there. Bradford muttered "it's just a cane guys". Did you have to throw some 'bows? No 'bows necessary. I was the only dude with both hands on the thing, so I just had to wait for everyone else to let go with their single hands. Some couple tried to offer me $40 for it, and claim they are bigger Deerhunter fans than me. How rude. Apparently, offering me $40 for stuff I have at shows is becoming a thing. Last month at the Vera Project Angel Deradoorian tried to give me $40 for the Frasier t-shirt that Pea gave me. That show was incredible. I was so excited about the cane that I never really commented on any of this. That Atlas Sound shit was crazy loud and in my face. Dolphinitely much different than previous Atlas Sound shows. I was basically second row for both shows, in front on Lockett's amp in Portland and in front of Bradford's amp in Seattle. For the record, I prefered Lockett side. That dude plays so crisp with laser focus. The direct transition was excellent. In Portland, the band were on stage soundchecking when the doors opened, and they continued to practice four of the new songs for over an hour before the Atlas Sound set even started. Bradford called it a "focus group". He would play riffs a couple of different ways such as with and without distortion, "Velvet Underground style" or "Residents style", and ask us which we liked better. He also tried to start bands within the crowd, like an all female group and a "Throbbing Gristle-type" band. The Seattle show was much more professional. I liked seeing both versions. Nothing Ever Happened never gets old, and the Fading Frontier songs sounded fucking amazing, especially Living My Life and Ad Astra. Also, that dude on the left of the stage is White Rainbow and he is a fucking excellent addition to the band. Favorite shows of the year/life.

Burrito: I am so jealous of you. That is an epic two nights of Deerhunter. They HAVE to be at Sasquatch this year. Must have mooooore. I didn't realize that Dracula Cumstain was White Rainbow! I have seen White Rainbow solo (opening for Fuck Buttons). I didn't realize he played instruments as well. That knowledge makes it even sweeter in retrospect.

Deerhunter at Sasquatch 2011 is my #2 favorite set of all time, second only to her majesty Björk at Sasquatch 2007. That shit ruled so hard. I will be surprised if they aren't on the 2016 lineup. It just has to happen.
