From my Facebutt, because I only ever say something in exactly the right words:
So I'm a workin' man now. I work in a data entry cellar downtown; their word for it is 'capture center'. Anyway, one of the perks of my job is that I can keep my headphones on for my entire shift. They figured out that it improves production, and I am so totally serious when I say that [the place I work] is SERIOUS about production. And so, keeping the SERIOUS focus on production in mind and realizing that my supervisors wouldn't much like seeing me constantly thumbing through my iPod, I half-unwittingly embarked on a personal experiment as soon as my training was over: I listened to every single Residents album on my iPod in alphabetical order. That's eight hours a day, minus two 15 minute breaks during which I hit pause to maintain the dubious integrity of my experiment. So 7.5 hours, five days a week. The proceedings finally wrapped up this afternoon at 3:12pm -- after two and a half weeks.
- I heard at least one version of This Is a Man's World that I'm *pretty* sure I'd never heard before, and at least a dozen different versions of Walter Westinghouse.
-The number of hours clocked only includes the (many, many) Residents albums that are on my iPod. If I had access to every single album ever released, the experiment would have almost certainly lasted almost another two weeks. This is one of the reasons that my favorite band is better than yours.
-I got a very real and sustained kick out of constantly having all that weirdness piping into my head while all of my co-workers shuffled papers around me, drinking coffee and talking about reality TV. Nobody ever asked me what I was listening to, but if they had my answer was ready: You really don't want to know.
-Working in the sub-basement of an old postal building made the Mole records particularly satisfying, especially the 'working down below' bits.
-Highlight: Not Available, as ever.
-Low point: The Voice of Midnight. King & Eye hasn't got shit on VoM in the nadir department. It was never good, and let's just say that it has not aged well. At all.

Seeds isn't nearly as good as I wanted it to be. The first four tracks were pretty great, but then I spent the next 37 minutes wondering why I was still listening to it.
