Hold the fucking phone! Did this already happen and I wasn't paying attention? It hasn't come out yet, one of my friends had a promo copy of it. I don't know EYEHATEGOD all that well but I really liked what I heard.

Helms Alee & Young Widows Split Oooooh I forgot about this one, and now I have to wait until after Sasquatch to hear it...shitz. Describe it to me in graphic detail? The cover art is a drawing/painting of a ship on a tumultuous voyage through a moonlit sky. The first three tracks are from Helms Alee. The next three are from Young Widows. The track list: 1. Punchy Stabby [1:47] 2. PAN [2:36] 3. Gas Giant [3:19] 4. Field of Zzzz [2:34] 5. The Wanderer [4:37] 6. The Waves Came In [3:22] The tracks could have easily been included with Sleepwalking Sailors or Easy Pain. I like that they held them back though. The split is going to be with them on their tour together. That is one hell of a tour. I would be bummed that Helms Alee isn't on the Seattle bill but Constant Lovers are so it's cool. I can burn a copy of it for you and bring it to the festival if you would like.

I'm going to deliver! Expect it tomorrow at some time. Well that didn't happen. But it's coming along nicely. Tomorrow I will finish it before too late in the evening. I declare it!

I actually enjoyed both Heligoland and Nine Types of Light for the first time ever last night. Light in particular just never did a single thing for me, but suddenly I like it better than Dear Science. Although I don't really dig Science all that much; production is too shiny. The production on Light is definitely too shiny as well, but I got under or around that somehow and suddenly realized that the songs on that album are actually very similar to the kinds of songs that were on Return to Cookie Mountain (which is 10x better than either Science or Light).
My opinion of Heligoland has always been that it goes sharply downhill immediately after 'Pray for Rain'; I still feel that way, but what the fuck do you do when you write a song like 'Play for Rain'? That's OBVIOUSLY an album opener, and it's damn near impossible for any of the other tracks on that record to even hope to ever be that good. I've turned that record off halfway through 80% of the times that I've listened to it, but last night it finally found a place in my lil' heart.

The first 5 minutes of that set are fucking incredible. It loses me at stupid fucking Martin Garrix "Animals" and then wins me back again for the last 15 minutes.
