I dunno if any of you guys caught odd future on Fallon (ok it hasn't aired on the west coast so I doubt it) but they just tore shit up So fucking sick. Watching Odd Future become huge in the next year is going to be fun. If there were "music stock," I would buy a shitload of Tyler, The Creator right now. Pea enjoy them at Coachella for me.

I must admit I haven't really given them any attention. Where does a newbie start??
Wow, that Fallon performance was pretty intense! Pending conflicts, I'll definitely try and catch them.

I'm a newbie myself, so I don't really know. But I've listened to Tyler, The Creator's solo album Bastard, Earl Sweatshirt's solo album Earl, and a bunch of random cuts. They have a tumblr with a ton of free music on it.

I must admit I haven't really given them any attention. Where does a newbie start?? Wow, that Fallon performance was pretty intense! Pending conflicts, I'll definitely try and catch them. This is the first single off tyler's upcoming album goblin, it's probably the best song they've done and the video is great otherwise the list drew posted is all good but a lot of it is horrifically offensive (see Earl's song epaR...read it backwards...). That said, Earl and Tyler are easily the two most talented members of the band so if you're willing to confront that stuff it's definitely worth it. If you want something a little more accessible the mellowhype (hodgy beats and left brain) album blackenedwhite is really good. This is probably my favorite song off of that one: but yeah as drew said all of their albums are available for free on their tumbler. Goblin comes out in April and that's gonna cost money oddfuture.tumblr.com/

It's incredibly graphic and horrific stuff sometimes. It's offset, for me at least, by the pointed emotional quality of a lot of it (especially Tyler's stuff), and by their age.
I think the debate about whether someone should be allowed to rap about raping women and killing people has dried out - there's nothing new to be said, really. And while I obviously don't condone any of these things, I can't help but find this music and these characters fascinating. It's a true counter-culture, for one thing, and these guys are so wildly charismatic, for another. They're also sooooo young, it's obvious they're just reacting against the PC-quality of so-called hardcore rap, which is anything but hardcore, and that's a sentiment I can get behind.

I don't remember the song title.
Anyway....
CSS - Donkey
These guys (gals) are easily this year's "LCD" discovery for me. I've always ignored them for no apparent reason but now I'm completely in love.

Robyn - Body Talk, Pt. 2 Rodrigo Y Gabriela - 11:11 The Globes - The Globes Ep Jaill - That's How We Burn Stornoway - Beachcomber's Windowsill Basia Bulat - Heart of My Own Pepper Rabbit - Beauregard Young The Giant - Young The Giant (See below) Foster The People - Foster The People Ep White Arrows - White Arrows Ep Skrillex - Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites Ep
Young the Giant's song "My Body" is going to make that band a lot of money. This might be the next band you end up hating. I'd never heard of them before the lineup release, and I don't listen to the radio, so if it is already being played out, I didn't know.
