Either Gossamer or Confess doing anything for ya? Confess still loses me after a few tracks.

Not so sure about Twin Shadow right now, but enjoying Gossamer for sure, and I feel like Confess is going to grow on me. Yea I sat Confess aside for a week or so and then revisited it and really started to enjoy it.

Also just grabbed and will be listening to the following today and over the next few days while I'm in the forest.
Mars Volta - Noctourniquet Grimes - Visions Purity Ring - Shrines Dan Mangan - Oh, Fortune The Antlers - Undersea Japandroids - Celebration Rock The Presets - Beams
God damn if the music of 2012 isn't making the last 2-3 years look terrible in comparison.

I can't for the life of me get into Undersea. Boring boring boring. Really happy that didn't end up being a full length because a full album of that material would have bummed me out so bad.

On a sidenote, I don't know what the fuck is up with my itunes, but it's making me want to bring Steve Jobs back from the grave so I can torture him like he's torturing me.

Hmm. I'll go back and listen to the last track. I usually lose interest during the 2nd or 3rd track and turn it off.

I should blow the dust off my copy of this. I loved this album when I was younger.

I love that album. It's definitely one of the life soundtracks to my graduating year.

Wow, it is kind of hard to critique with one listen. The tracks kind of drift into some kind of madness, and I'm like what the fuck, then they draw me back in. Everything comes together in a great musical compostition. Ship's a'Going Down was a definite WTF, but it ended quite beautifully. Sounds like I need this in my life sooner than later. When can I get me a proper tour de Residents from the Gramma himself? I've got the time to commit the crime. This is probably my favorite Resident's album. I think you would totally dig it.

It also bears the distinction of being the one Residents album where I couldn't tell you what is going on half the time. The story behind its conception, recording process and the manner in which it was released is extremely fucking fascinating -- one of the most interesting quadrants of Residents lore -- but the narrative itself is so obtuse that probably only the Residents themselves could tell you what it means.
