NOTICE OF MOTION AND MOTION TO SHOW CAUSE WHY POSTER SHOULD NOT BE BANNEDThe Sasquatch! Music Festival unofficial message board, by and through one of its appointed representatives, INTERSTATEEIGHT, now moves for a formal motion, to wit, that poster z3phyr13 show cause why she should not be banned from this forum. FACTS OF THE CASEOn Friday, September 2, 2011, z3phyr13 did affirmatively and publicly state that a song by Owl City was "now playing" for her. That Owl City is a blight on popular music and a directed offense to Seattle and northwest music in particular is undisputed by all parties. ARGUMENTSupport for Owl City in any form constitutes a terrorist act against this board and its members. ORDERPoster z3phyr13 is hereby ordered to show cause why she should not be banned from this message board. DATED: September 2, 2011

So, I must admit I had never knowingly listened to Owl City before. I looked up 1 song, it had like 65 million views or something, and it sounds like a terrible version of the Postal Service.
I guess that also means I listened to a song of his though. I was just experimenting, I swear!

a terrible version of the Postal Service. It is that so much that they should seriously put stickers on the front of that album saying as much. Seriously the only reason that band exists is to cash in on people who want another Postal Service album so badly that they are willing to completely switch off their ability to discern quality and settle for 'close enough'.

DEFENDANTS RESPONSE TO THE CASE AGAINST HERTo start, things we all know about z3phyr13: She has admittedly said that she likes ke$ha and Bright Eyes as well as several other artists that do not meet the high standard of musical taste held by the more prominent members of the board. So it is expected that she partakes in the once popular Owl City following. Furthermore, in the past another board member beloved by many has openly expressed that he in fact went to see owl city. I saw Owl City before Fireflies came out if that counts. While we do recognize that this board is not a democracy, and fairness/equality is just a dream, we ask that you take z3phyr13's plea into consideration. Z3PHYR13'S PLEAz3phyr13 would like to plea guilty to the charges brought against her in this case. We ask that you allow the defendant to enter into a deferment program. This program will include z3phyr13's agreement to never speak of Owl City on the board again. She will also provide copious amounts of Jungle Juice to any board member who asks at the 2012 Sasquatch Festival.

The Drums - Portamento
If all Drums songs had a moving melody like "We Tried" from the first album and the sonic quirks and experiments of this album, they'd be unstoppable. This album is really good, and not at all homogenous like the first album, but it lacks melodic punch.
Melodic punch.
