Oh man the last track on this R.E.M. record is unbelievable. I think that's Patti Smith...?? edit: oh it totally is. Anyone who ever loved R.E.M. needs to hear this album. I'll take your word for it! I've been wondering if this album would be worth a listen. "mine smells like honey" didn't really capture me but I like "UBerlin."

What do you think about Fitz and the Tantrums, know? I saw them on Conan last night. First I'd listened to them. They are rad. Will listen again.

I'm over at NPR where R.E.M. is premiering their new record Collapse Into Now in a 'listening party' format. Tonally falls somewhere between New Adventures in Hi-Fi and Monster. I really liked Accelerate, which sounded amazingly like the Lifes Rich Pageant R.E.M., but two songs into the new one and I already like it better. I didn't think they could write music like this anymore. Agreed, after the first listen, it blew me away, every song is solid, and after a few more listens I think this will be another classic.

I cannot wait to get the album next Tuesday. Doing my best to hold of listening to it beforehand but after reading these comments it's getting harder to hold off. R.E.M. is my second favorite band of all time and I personally think they are not capable of putting out a bad album.
I listened to Reveal and Up earlier today and forgot how good those two albums are. I think I am now going to end my night with a little New Adventures in Hi-Fi!

Started the night with some DFA, now I'm listening to Talkdemonic. I am really digging these guys right now. Folktronic. Good stuff.

Neither is my name. Funny story... my Scottish family wouldn't call me by my first name for at least the first 3-4 years of my life. That's hardcore.

That sounds more like a. the-roots-of-my-deep-and-complete-lack-of-confidence-in-who-I-am story.

Sorry dude, I was only playin' on your "Funny Story" line. "Craic" means fun in Gaelic, and also I know nothing of Scotland (I stuck to my safe zone).
