| | Road to the Gorge from Seattle... « Thread Started on May 26, 2010, 11:24am » | |
Hello,
we're coming in from NYC and will be driving in a rented RV on Fri morning from Seattle to the Gorge. I have a few questions about the trip:
1. Are there any good scenic spots to stop for maybe an afternoon hike or swim on the way to the Gorge? 2. Where is a good place to stop for groceries and other supplies (lawn chairs, camping gear, toiletries etc)? Is it super desolate or is there a Target or something along the way? Should we do our shopping before we leave the Seattle area? 3. It will be our first time driving an RV - are there any super windy roads? Does the road (I think it's interstate 90?) go through mountains?
Thank you!!! Can't wait!

1. I can't really answer specifically but yes you can get down to the river for a swim near the gorge. I've never done it personally though.
2. We're stopping in Issaquah which is about 30 minutes east of Seattle on I-90. There's one particular strip mall we like that has a QFC, liquor store and a couple other choice stops, like ice cream and stuff...
3. The I-90 from Seattle crosses a rather inevitable mountain range. It's called Snoqualmie pass.
