Peatrick's post with his crazy-ass metal band if any other people around here are in/have been in bands and what those bands are like.

Please though, don't be a Napolean Skywalker, don't spend a bunch of time plugging your band. Just a youtube video or two.

I had a couple until a portion of both of these moved to New York last summer.

There was Hip Young Gunslingers which I played mostly drums in (sorry no video):

And there was Short Shorts which I pretended like I could play guitar in.

(I think this is from when we opened for Toro Y Moi, of whom I don't get my dick sucked for knowing, yet I do still get my dick sucked.)

And this one, having no guitar, I played floor tom and cowbell.

I played keyboard in a band called Polyester Plaid Junkies in like 1997. We could play the Meat Puppets' 'Backwater' and 'When I Come Around' by Green Day.

Tensions and creative differences caused the band to split after Will Silva got 'really into' Marilyn Manson and tried to smoke a clove cigarette in the shed in my parents driveway. A brief reunion was held in the vicinity of the merch stand on The Cure's 'Wild Mood Swings' tour, although no new material was written or recorded. The Polyester Plaid Junkies' final performance was in a Volkswagen on the way to a screening of 'Dracula: Dead and Loving It', consisting of all-vocal renditions of Primitive Radio Gods and Cranberries songs (accompanied by those forgotten 90's mainstays, the Poorly Dubbed Cassettes).

This thread is already a lot better than I thought it'd be.

in my junior year of high school i was in a band for like two months.
but we broke up once it came time to decide our name:
no one could agree between The Velvet Toaster or The Geriatric Sluts.

Wouldn't say we're a band but i picked up drums about a year and a half ago and i have a friend thats a really good guitar player. We go by "lovin in the ovin" and occasionally wowed crowds of up to 6 people.

It gets my dick sucked constantly

I've been in a few bands since I started playing drums and guitar at 14. There was my nirvana-esque band called for no apparent reason, 'Howitzer', which I played guitar and squawked shit vocals through a karaoke machine '. Then I played guitar and sang in a band called, "Work Horse", we played a handful shows around the area, before dismantling. Then I played in a folk duo called LumberJacket, which only played live once at a house party, played drums in that. Also for a very short time(one night only) played drums in a Neil Young cover band called Forever Young, that was for new years eve '08 I believe, and was purely for the entertainment of our close friends. I have no videos to show, and even if I did it would be far too embarrassing to show.

Currently play in zero bands because none of my friends can spare +/- an hour a week, shit sucks.

I was in a death metal band as a vocalist (originally the guitarist) all through high school and a few years after. We actually made a pretty decent name for ourselves in the metal community and got to play with almost every single one of my favorite bands at the time. After breaking up I lost just about all interest in the genre since I wasn't around it anymore, but I still get a kick out of some brutal chunes from time to time.

Here's another fun live vid of us...

Hell ya that's a Jurassic Park reference in the beginning.

I'll let her know.

Those dancers were actually just for that show since that one was a big deal festival. But I keep in touch, even though she's in Baltimore now.

I seriously love that picture. I wish I was born a few years earlier so I could have fully appreciated the ridiculousness that was the 80's. At least I got to experience hammer pants.
